That’s why you always visit the Item Store whenever you can and set up a proper loadout for each type of ghost. Many items offer the necessary protection to help you escape a rough situation. Smudge Sticks are such items. So, if you need protective items in Phasmophobia, consider adding the Smudge Sticks to your loadout. We’ll show you exactly how you can use them in the game. If you’re unsure what to spend money on, you can’t go wrong with Smudge Sticks. Note that if you want to use a Smudge Stick, you must bring something to light it up, such as a Lighter. To light the Smudge Stick, equip your Lighter and turn it on using the left trigger or right-click. When it’s lit, switch to your Smudge Sticks and press the left trigger or F key to light them. Or, if you’re coordinated with a partner, you can have them light them for you or vice versa. Now that you have everything you need, how do Smudge Sticks work in Phasmophobia? A Smudge Stick can temporarily stop a ghost from hunting and, subsequently, killing anyone. So, these items are perfect to buy you some time to recollect yourself or regroup with your team. When lit, a Smudge Stick burns for about 6 seconds. If lit during a hunt, then the ghost is stopped for those 6 seconds. However, they can start up again when the sticks are burnt out. So, find your hiding spot fast. Additionally, Smudge Sticks will prevent Phasmophobia ghosts from initiating a hunt for a set amount of time. Ghosts are stopped for 90 seconds. Alongside that, a Yurei is prevented from wandering from the room it’s in for 90 seconds. Meanwhile, a Spirit is stopped for 180 seconds. A Demon has the shortest time stopped at 60 seconds. Tips on Using Smudge Sticks in Phasmophobia
When you use the Smudge Sticks, you can throw them down on the ground or keep a hold of them. Also, Smudge Sticks can blind a ghost during a hunt. This can also help you rush off to a hiding spot. To do this, the ghost must be around 6 meters from any player. When used while the Smudge Stick is burning, the ghost is completely blind to the players. You can even run through them. But remember: this is only for as long as they’re burning. Once the Smudge Sticks are done, the Phasmophobia ghosts can kill you. Also, you can’t stack Smudge Sticks. So, don’t waste them by using another before the first one is used. They’ll just overlap one another. Time it right, and Smudge Sticks may very well save your life and your team’s life.
