Google has announced it will shut down Google Stadia from January 18, 2023. Vice President and General Manager Phil Harrison of Google Stadia Officially released the announcement on September 29, 2022. All the games you have purchased will remain playable till that date. You can request a refund for your game purchases and any Stadia hardware from Google before the service officially shuts down. This guide will show you the steps to get a refund for games and hardware from Google Stadia. How to Get a Refund For Games and Hardware From Google Stadia
You can get your refund directly from Google Store for Hardware purchases or the Stadia store for software purchases. Refunds will be made to the Credit or Debit card you used to purchase the item. If the card does not work anymore, you will get an email from Google to coordinate the refund. According to the Official Announcement made by Phil Harrison, the company expects to complete all rebates before January 18, 2023. You can refund all hardware purchases, including Play and Watch with Google TV packages, Founders Edition, Stadia controller, and Premiere Editions. Also, games and add-on purchases can be refunded through the Stadia store. However, you will not get a refund for Stadia Pro Subscription. Instead, any active subscription holder on September 29, 2022, will be able to access their pro library and other subscription entitlements for free during the shutting down period. Related
