Overwatch 2 Doomfist Hero Guide Tips & Abilities
Posted By: Ethan Webbon: October 12, 2022In: Features, Gaming, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox OneTags: Guide, Overwatch 2No Comments Print Email Previously a Damage Hero in the franchise’s prequel, the cybernetic arm-wielding Doomfist has been reworked into being a Tank Hero in Overwatch 2. As a result, the character has an increased pool of HP, but his damage output has been significantly reduced. While this change might frustrate Doomfist mains from the first Overwatch, this Hero still offers excellent utility on the battlefield if used properly. Those familiar with his previous kit will likely be able to quickly adapt to Doomfist’s reworked abilities. On the other hand, new players should have a solid understanding of this character’s mechanics before they attempt to use him in PvP. How to Use Doomfist in Overwatch 2
To use Doomfist in Overwatch 2, players must have the mindset of being a Tanky bruiser who focuses on initiating plays, attacking backline targets, and defending enemies from choke points. His abilities grant him lots of mobility, enabling players to quickly traverse complex maps with diverse verticality. However, using him in maps with large open spaces is not recommended. Related

Doomfist’s primary movement and diving ability is Seismic Slam, a leap that ends with a slam. Players will be using this ability to traverse the terrain, dive at squishy targets, or escape enemy fire. Compared to Overwatch, Rocket Punch does significantly less damage. Still, it serves as an excellent means to displace enemies from their groups, allowing other Damage Heroes to focus their attacks on a specific target. To enhance the Rocket Punch’s power, players can charge the ability by blocking enemy attacks using Doomfist’s Power Block. This defensive skill blocks 80% of oncoming frontal damage for 2 seconds. When Doomfist is not being used to clobber enemies in Overwatch 2, players should constantly be applying damage and pressure with their Hand Cannon, this Hero’s only ranged attack. Doomfist’s Ultimate Ability is Meteor Strike, which sends the character up into the sky before smashing back to the ground, dealing heavy AoE damage. While it might be tempting to use this as an initiator for fights, YouTube content creator Dunmuir suggests using Rocket Punch or Seismic Slam as a gap closer, then transitioning to Meteor Strike once enemies have spent their abilities to avoid being hit. However, ensure that at least one of the abilities is on cooldown to chase down a wounded opponent or escape a counterattack. Overwatch 2 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series XS, and Nintendo Switch.
