‘ Fargo’ Season 5 on FX Adds Four Cast Members

David Rysdahl, Sam Spruell, Jessica Pohly, and Nick Gomez join the ranks of Fargo cast members alongside names like Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton, along with previously announced new additions like Joe Keery and Jennifer Jason Leigh, among others. First premiering on FX in 2014, Fargo the TV series is based on the 1996 film of the same name, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and starring Frances McDormand and William H. Mancy. The series, which is reportedly set in the same universe as the film, is presented as an anthology, with each season taking place in a different time and place – as a result, the show takes place in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Missouri anywhere between the 1950s and, as of the fifth season, 2019. Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Jennifer Jason Leigh (Atypical), Lamorne Morris (New Girl), Juno Temple (Ted Lasso), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), and Richa Moorjani (Never Have I Ever) have been announced to be starring as Gator Tillman, Lorraine, Witt Farr, Dorothy “Dot” Lyon, Roy, and Indira Olmstead; specific details about the new season’s characters are being kept under wraps until it’s official debut. According to Variety, David Rysdahl, who most recently appeared as Lars on Hulu’s No Exit (2022), will join season 5 of Fargo as Wayne Lyon. Rysdahl’s acting career stretches back to TV shorts in 2008, with his more recent roles including Jeff Sharlet on The Family (2019) and Mike in Nine Days (2020). Sam Spruell, known for his appearance as Finn in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), will be joining Fargo as Ole Munch. Some of Spruell’s recent roles include Swarm on Doctor Who (2021) and Aaron/Nicholas in The Hanging Sun (2022). Jessica Pohly, whose career includes a role as Pepper in Netflix’s Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday (2016), will star as Agent Meyer. Pohly’s acting history also includes appearances on TV shows such as S.W.A.T. (2020), 9-1-1 Lone Star (2020), and The Walking Dead (2020). Nick Gomez, star of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022), will be joining Fargo on FX as Agent Joaquin. Some of Gomez’s previous roles include Oscar Ruiz in Snatchers (2017), Nick Riley in Bosch (2016), and Javier “El Sapo” Guzman in Dexter (2013). Fargo was created by Noah Hawley, who also serves as the show’s director and executive producer alongside Warren Littlefield and Joel and Ethan Coen, who directed the original Fargo film. Steven Stark serves as an executive producer for Toluca Productions with Kim Todd and Vincent Landay. Fargo is produced by FX Productions and MGM Television, with MGM distributing the series globally. Further information on Fargo season 5, including a release date and detailed character information, is currently unavailable but will likely be revealed as the season is produced.
