James Tynion IV Announces New Comic

The comic creator shared the news with his premium substack subscribers saying it is his “first ongoing” comic since 2021’s The Nice House on the Lake. While the comic is not expected until Spring 2023, readers can see the first chapter in next month’s Image! 30th Anniversary #8. James Tynion IV’ s W0rldtr33
Joining James Tynion IV for the series is artist Fernando Blanco, colorist Jordie Bellaire, and letterer Aditya Bidikar. In announcing the project, Tynion shared that he could not be more excited about both the project and the team. More so, he is excited about a character debuting within the series that he likens to “an iconic figure on the level of an Erica Slaughter or a Fictional Woman”. However, fans won’t meet this iconic character until closer to the series release. He also teased an incredible lineup of cover artists ready and waiting to adorn the series in some fantastic art. Alongside the announcement, the creator shared some of the art readers will see in the upcoming Image! 30th Anniversary #8. What Will The Comic Be About
Per Bleedingcool, the synopsis for the series reveals it is set in 1999 and follows a group of friends; Gabriel, Amanda, Liam, Yoshi, and Darren. The group discovers something they call the “Undernet,” a secret architecture beneath the Internet. Together, they plotted and charted their exploration of the Undernet on a private message board called, you guessed it, W0rldtr33. However, they soon lose control of the Undernet, releasing unimaginable horrors. If that isn’t enough for you, Tynion promises another announcement in the coming week. This time it will be for a project even crazier than W0rldtr33. It is something that has been in the works over the past year and that the writer has been dying to unveil to everyone. While he remains tight-lipped on what it could be, he does share that it is not a comic project, and it is a little outside of what you may expect from him. Sounds promising.
