Rainbow Six Extraction revealed at E3 2021 with huge parasite and multiple enemies

Bill Cooney Published: 2021-06-12T19:18:06 Updated: 2022-03-25T12:42:17E3E3 2021Rainbow Six ExtractionUbisoftUbisoft started things off with a bang at E3 2021, and Rainbow Six was front and center with some massive announcements for the new Extraction title. So let’s take a look at everything that got revealed right here. Extraction release date: September 16 Extraction — a new 3-person co-op PvE mode. Players will have access to unique weapons and gear. Before the show even started, Ubisoft gave Rainbow Six fans some hints on what would be revealed during the Forward showcase on June 12. These included, notably, cross-play and cross-progression, as well as a look at Operation North Star for Siege. Like a lot of other multiplayer online games cross-play has been a hot topic in the Siege community, but during the main show the spotlight was on the newest title in the Rainbow Six franchise, Extraction.

Rainbow Six Extraction details

Rainbow Six’s new co-op PvE game has players taking on an “unprecedented alien threat”. You will be able to unlock new abilities and access to a unique arsenal as you progress.

Rainbow Six Extraction operators

After the two trailers were released by Ubisoft during E3, the official Extraction site was updated with nine of the 18 operators that will eventually be available. The full list (so far) can be found below, and we’ll be updating you when Ubisoft announces the rest. Finka Pulse Doc Sledge Alibi Vigil Hibana Ela Lion On top of that, each operator will have access their classic abilities, and weapons, but these will be tweaked to take on Extraction’s unique non-player enemies.

Rainbow Six Extraction enemies

There are multiple different enemy types as seen in the trailer, and we got a look at even more during the E3 gameplay reveal. The basic Parasite looks like black goo that flows through the map. The Spiker operates just like its name implies, while the long range spiker fires armor-piercing projectiles similar to a firearm at the player. The Rooter immobilizes any player unlucky enough to be caught in front of it, while Smashers are large, burly enemies that charge in one direction. Further down on Level 3, you’ll meet the Lurkers, which can turn other enemies invisible until you take it out. The Tormentor is an elite foe that can teleport around using parasite on the map and shoot what looks like an energy weapon at players, and finally the Apex is one of the most dangerous foes you’ll face, though we didn’t learn much about it from the gameplay reveal. UbisoftYour Siege favorites will team up yet again in Rainbow Six Extraction.

Will Rainbow Six Extraction have cross-play and cross-progression

Rainbow Six Extraction will be getting fully-integrated cross-play and cross-progression before Siege does. Extraction will launch with full compatibility between consoles. This means you’ll be able to play with your friends, no matter what device they use. If you use multiple devices yourself, your progress will be tracked across all. Siege’s cross-play rollout starts on June 30, but won’t wrap up until early 2022. That’s all we have for Rainbow Six Extraction at Ubisoft Forward for E3 2021 right now, but there’s more to come so check back soon.
