Developers Square Enix have yet to announce a release date for Kingdom Hearts 4, but it is likely that the game won’t hit shelves until 2023 at the earliest. For reference, Kingdom Hearts 3 was released six years after its initial announcement. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Kingdom Hearts 4 doesn’t take quite as long to come out. The announcement of the next Disney-orientated RPG didn’t specify any platforms, but it is likely the next installment will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S X, and PC. Apart from the brief debut of gameplay shown in the 20th-anniversary announcement trailer, there are no extensive gameplay breakdowns of the next Kingdom Hearts game to enjoy just yet. It looks like combat will be similar to previous entries in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, with Sora wielding the Keyblade, firing magic against opponents, and using parkour skills to get around.
