Here’s all we know about Legends of Runeterra: Worldwalker Legends of Runeterra puts League of Legends and its massive cast of characters into a card game that’s every bit as addictive as the genre’s finest — and it keeps growing. After the excellent Curious Journey and a second Anniversary event, Riot is showing no signs of slowing down — with a full reveal of the next expansion, Legends of Runeterra: Worldwalker, coming very soon. Worldwalker will arrive on May 25, and is likely to drop around 11 AM PT/7 PM GMT if prior expansions are anything to go by. Read more: When is the next League of Legends Clash tournament? We know of four new champions joining the Legends of Runeterra: Worldwalker expansion roster; Jhin, Illaoi, Bard, and Annie. Check out The Vituoso in the clip below: "Death should never be quick. Jhin will mark the first “Runeterra champion” since he’s not defined by a single region thanks to his ‘Origin’ keyword. That means players will be able to build decks with rules specific to that character. Illaoi uses the new ‘Spawn’ keyword, and she’s able to stack up offensive tentacles. She could be a really fun Champion to play in decks that ramp up to a big finish. Check her out in action below: "The waves will drag you down, unless you fight to shore." His origin is the “Wandering Caretaker”, so it’ll be interesting to see how his deckbuilding rules work. Riot GamesBard relies on charms to buff allies. Annie is a low-cost Champion that can burn through blockers to get to the Nexus, and when leveled up she creates her nightmare bear Tibbers in hand. We’re expecting to see new cards via reveals on Mobalytics.gg. The first batch has revealed various cards from multiple regions, including Noxus, Bilgewater, Frejlord, Ionia Targon, and Demacia. These create fleeting versions of cards from numerous Runeterra regions. New keywords
At the time of writing, we know of two keywords; Origin and Spawn. Origin: This keyword is less an active consideration in battle, and more focused around the deckbuilding side of Legends of Runeterra since it affects which cards can be put in a deck. If players already have one, it’ll get +1 for both for every spawn. Path of Champions 2 0
Path of Champions is a PvE mode that lets players build a deck through a series of encounters, and it’s getting a 2.0 overhaul when Worldwalker arrives. Dates, how it works In the following video, Riot committed to “remaking” the game mode to be “even more immersive and rewarding”, with campaigns specific to each champion. Players can expect more flexibility from the new mode, and progression will be reset in that mode. Expeditions are being removed from the game with the idea being to rework them going forward.
