Man dies after boat capsizes in rough seas near Sonoma County coast The man, 60-year-old Kreydich Mikhaylovich, was a resident of Rancho Cordova in the greater Sacramento region. Two others in the boat with Mikhaylovich made it safely to shore, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said.The boat was reported to have overturned around 2:41 p.m. Friday near Salt Point State Park, a rocky shoreline and camping spot known for its diverse marine life, including bull kelp and red abalone. Two people inside the boat had returned to land after struggling with the tide, but one remained in the water — “face down and not moving,” a 911 caller told the sheriff’s office.The helicopter crew freed the victim from the rock and flew him to a nearby bluff with a horse collar rescue device. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
