I muddled along, asking clarifying questions, offering suggestions, expressing my best wishes for coming out on the other side of crises. And then I sought advice of my own, visiting with Dr. Jill DeTemple, professor and chair of religious studies at Southern Methodist University and an academic associate at Essential Partners, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that focuses on building relationships while addressing challenges.
