It's focused on making sure the community has a voice in police training, preventing over-policing, and the number one recommendation — creating an office of neighborhood safety But the city says more research is needed before creating such an office. “There are some gaps, and I think those gaps are most specifically within our communities of color,” said Servicios de La Raza president and CEO Rudy Gonzales."Detailed inventories regarding weapons, munitions, equipment, and materials contain sensitive details that, if released publicly, could compromise officer safety and ability to address public safety situations necessitating the deployment of lethal and less lethal weapons or personal protective gear. “I truly believe that we can help rebuild, in a good way, a healthy relationship again that is community-led, because we're very strong proponents of that and we’re strong proponents of the STAR Advisory Committee. The City of Denver says out of the 112 recommendations, 74% are already being implemented and only 15% were declined, some due to legal reasons.” Servicios de La Raza provides behavioral health, healthcare, and financial services through a culturally responsive lens. And the victims were picked up at some of the most prominent metro nightspots, past and present, including Beta, Neon Baby, the Irish Rover and Tracks, the last of which proved instrumental in his arrest. The warrant details nine other crimes all too similar to the first, in which a man either attempted or succeeded at sexually assaulting defenseless victims.
