The Snack World Is Level-5's Next Cross-Media Project, And It's Coming To Nintendo 3DS Nintendo Life

Toys use NFC to interact with the game by Share: As if announcing three new Yo-Kai Watch titles wasn't enough, Level-5 has today revealed its next big "cross-media" venture, The Snack World. A multimedia effort which will see Level-5 collaborate with Takara Tomy, TV Tokyo and CoroCoro Comics, The Snack World will cover movies, manga, toys and video games. The title hasn't been confirmed for the west, but it's interesting to note that the has an English section "coming soon". on The toys will use NFC tech to unlock content - such as items and weapons - in the game, which is coming to 3DS, Android and iOS. The toys are like key rings, and come in cute little treasure boxes: The game was shown running on both Nintendo's console and a smartphone - the latter of which looked much prettier, but is perhaps a little less stable - it crashed during the presentation: on Image credits: [source ] Share: About Damien has over a decade of professional writing experience under his belt, as well as a repulsively hairy belly. Rumours that he turned down a role in The Hobbit to work on Nintendo Life are, to the best of our knowledge, completely and utterly unfounded. Comments ) Hahaha LoL that made me laugh. I love the art style but having to buy keyrings to play the game is off putting. Nintendo......buy level 5 while you still can....... This sounds interesting! Doubt it will come to North America though. We still haven't even received the first Yo-Kai Watch, which I'm still pretty disappointed about. (Retract my comment about Yo-Kai Watch. Just saw that it is coming to North America in 2016!) I can see a game like this selling well in Japan. It's just building upon Yo-Kai Watch's already established success. TRE

BOX ∩_∩ Seems interesting, although I'm certainly not fond of the key rings. Hope one can still play the game as is. Whatever, it's Level 5, this'll take years to come to the west, anyway, if it even does... It's a level 5 game ! It's a Level 5 game.. that you have to buy pieces of to get the full experience. Why am I not surprised? That was so unexpected and disappointing, just like Prof. Layton 7. I could never quite follow the practise of franchises hopping platforms like this, that's one of the reasons I was so utterly disappointed by Squenix over the years, and I don't want Level 5 to keep crushing my hopes like they did. If they add or create a similar game for North America with North American characters then the game might sell if extra key ring figures are made. I've always liked Level 5, North America shouldn't have to wait if Level 5 wants money. So plastic NFC toys are officially the plastic-instrument-music-game of this generation. I like Level-5, but I'm not buying any game that requires an extra investment in plastic toys. I only have so much shelf space, and the new Transformers are too awesome to ignore. In the near future they'll ask us to buy a real Ferrari if we want to unlock it in Forza Turismo 12. this looks silly
im quite excited, Omg, the artstyle is fantastic!! Are they using actual claymatiom? It's adorable, I'm already sold! That's what I was talking about. I wouldn't mind if they made games for multiple platforms, that's completely logical from a financial standpoint. But this feels like they're altogether moving away from the 3DS and that's what I don't get. FL and Layton worked so well on 3DS (sold well, too, I think), so why abandon it? Ah, but maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself, maybe they'll go back with these franchises sometime in the future. I'm always hopeful. Really surprising and original. Don't like the DLC like keyring tho. Love that animation style. That Medusa owes a lot to the original Clash of the Titans movie, but I'm okay with that. Not really into those keyring toys either, but maybe there's a fair price point in game and toy that could work. It looks like they will be small and be aiming to make them portable - like on a keychain - though right? Seems like they did put a lot of thought into it. Maybe if the game was very inexpensive to start with. Tre Jara Box. Love that, too. Does everyone have some nfc figure/item now? I'm tying to get into DI now that amiibo has blown up in my face. However I can't devote my whole apartment to little figures. LOL, that would certainly be welcome and appreciated. I'm always happy to forgive, especially when bribed with games (that actually make it to a console I own and use). No, its definitely CGI but animated in a cool way to emulate stop-motion style. It pretty damn cool TBH. Looks silly(in a good way)
I'm not not how to feel about this, given I'm still sour at the fact that Fantasy Life 2 is going on mobile instead of the 3DS(or at least, before the 3DS) The animation looks great and interesting. We've the standard jrpg cliches with the charm of a kid's show.I'll keep on eye out for this animated series when it starts airing. As for the actual game,it looks very similar to Fantasy Life. It's all well and good, but I'm not liking the idea of these keychains.Hopefully they do more than just unlock a certain weapon, like perhaps include a quest/new area related to said weapon. That would give at least some incentive to purchase these things. Its most likely that at least one will come with the physical game and the rest sold separately(maybe through the eShop as well later on). By what they've shown so far and the fact it probably won't come to the west anytime soon,It's still too early for me to get exited This game goes to 5. Not sure why so many people are moaning about shelf space here... They're keychains... They don't go on shelves and if you DO choose to display them that way, they barely take up any space anyway. You can even put them on and between things on said shelves... Could be fun. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
