Not only do these battles provide exclusive rewards, but they're also a reliable method of grabbing Pokémon that you don't see very often, like Legendary Pokémon. This article is quite disappointing, which is weird on NL; most of their articles are terrific, funny, informative. T5 bosses are schedule-based so not available at all times, mostly just 1 or 2 at a time. Mewtwo is technically an EX Raid boss only visible and available by invite. Honestly I've only solo'd two three star raid pokemon with a few attempts till success aerodayctl and piloswine and that was with 5-6 seconds to spare. Tried a tangela 3 star raid, beat it twice but had 2 to 3 seconds on the clock and got jipped those precious seconds and it said I failed to beat it despite taking all its health, its agravating trying to solo 3 star ones on your own. very very miffed and po'd right now. Ummm idk if this is just really out of date or something. But the 3 Mewtwo I faced this weekend were over 60,000CP, not 49,000 No, I think they updated recently it but simply assumed that Mewtwo would still have the CP from his EX Raid. How To Start A Raid
You must be at least trainer level five and own a Raid Pass to join a Raid. You can grab one of these daily by visiting a gym, or by purchasing one from within the game for 100 PokéCoins. When a raid is about to begin, a large egg will appear over a nearby Gym, along with a counter. Once that counter reaches zero, the Raid Boss will be revealed and it's time to make your way to the Gym. Once there, redeem your Raid Pass and you'll enter a lobby where you can join a team made up of nearby players. This is also the time to pick your party of Pokémon, and ideally you pick those that will counter that particular Raid Boss. Once you're all happy, the Raid will begin and you'll have five minutes to defeat the Raid Boss and reap the rewards. Raids play very similarly to Gym Battles, with you tapping to pull off your Pokémon's variety of moves. Don't worry if you fail on your first attempt though. Once a Raid Pass is redeemed, you have an hour to try and defeat the Raid Boss. Fail and you can tweak your Pokémon and start all over again as many times as you want until that hour is up.Raid Rewards
Beat a Raid Boss and you get a chance to catch it. This chance varies depending on the Boss, and can be as high as 70% or as low as 2%. You can't use your regular Poké Balls though. Instead, you'll receive a bunch of Premier Balls based on different variables: Action Number of Poké Balls Received Defeat Raid Boss 5 Deal Damage 1 - 3 Team Damage 1 - 3 Gym Control 0 - 2 Friendship Level 0 - 4 You also get a bunch of other goodies, like Rare Candies, Golden Razz Berries, and TMs.Raid Boss Tiers

I find it a little odd that they made Rayquaza weaker than Groundon and Kyogre, and that Groundon and Kyogre are somehow stronger than Mewtwo, I haven’t done a legendary raid since when it was just Lugia and the bird trio going on back in July-August of last year.
