Spend your coins by Share: Nintendo has added a special Santa hat and outfit to in celebration of the holiday season. The hat will set you back 500 coins and the outfit will cost you a total of 1,000 coins. That's not all, though. If the previous mentioned makeover isn't expensive enough for your liking, how about an 8-bit Mario Cap for a whopping 9,999 coins? This will turn Mario and Cappy into the iconic pixelated version of Mario. This is arguably the best outfit yet. As usual, both of these outfits are available to purchase from the shop once you have finished the main story. Here's the official reveal below, courtesy of the Nintendo of America Twitter account: ! After you’ve finished the main story, check out the shop to find the Santa Hat & Santa Outfit and 8-Bit Mario Cap. - Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) Will you be purchasing these outfits at the in-game shop with all of the coins you've saved up? Comments ) Oof. 9999 coins for the 8-bit suit.... guess I'll be hunting down some balloons here in a bit. 8-bit Mario is like playing as a 30th anniversary Mario Amiibo. Not worth the purchase IMO. I'm just glad they added the baloon hunting. The original coin grinding method was about as tedious as anything could be. Btw, any Trick to get easy Coins ? Hunting balloons with Luigi is the fastest way of getting coins. Just go for the larger reward balloons and you can build up coins pretty darned fast. Oh boy, more costumes we've known about for ages, apparently they never added animations for the 8-bit costume after all, what a waste I really wish they would’ve announced a few new worlds to the game (even as paid DLC). I just can’t imagine getting back into it just to earn some random suits. I do appreciate that they’ve been supporting this and nearly every first party title well after its release. I enjoyed the game a lot, but simple skins like this aren't enough to make me come back to it. I totally imagine I will play it again someday, but I have a growing stack of games I haven't played YET to get to first. lol the 8 bit amiibo unlock it? Off to collect more coins then. What’s Bowser say when you challenge him as 8-bit Amiibo Mario? and 3 brand new worlds as a christmas present please ??? 8 bit Mario looks great, might check that one out some of the special courses are pretty generous with coins. For example, in the snow kingdom there's a pot right at the top near the start, where you throw in a seed and climb the vine... Coin rings galore.
That could get boring though, doing it over and over... Myself I finally finished Long Journey's End last weekend - months of almost finishing it had me racking up a few hundred coins every try. But now that's over, I dread going back there. Balloon hunt is fun, or would be if they fixed the glitcher problems. Since all those out of bound balloons ruin it for me I won't be going back in. yeah I agree. I was on a nice run the other day (several in a row), then came across an inaccessible balloon inside an air conditioning unit in metro world. A bit annoying lol have you got to the dark side of the moon yet? I'm just a completionist and still looking for those power moons so I'm sure I'll pick these up eventually. Hopefully DLC is announced at The Game Awards. I LOVE Santa Mario Part of me wants DLC worlds for this... part of me wants them to skip it and just announce an all new and improved sequel. Either way, I'm convinced there is more Odyssey to come...
Really? It's frankly one of the the only ones that would seem worth the purchase to me so far. As much as i like the support for this game Nintendo are providing with new costumes, i'd love a new world or two as paid DLC. That’s a good question. Question: Do I need the Online subscription to play Luigi Balloons?
I completed the game long time ago, but I might get into it again for the new costumes. However, I'm definitely not going to grind coins at the special levels. Not again. I’ve not felt the kind of Joy from a video game like I did with Odyssey for many many years. The set piece in New Donk City blew my mind upon the first playtthrough - simply stunning. I felt absolutely compelled to 100% the game and collect all 999 moons which I did - some of the very last moons I collected happened to be some of the best little challenges in the game. Such as I think one of my final 5 or so happened to be that stunnng little surprise in the cinema! Genuinely amazing game and I’ve ignored all the costume updates but I have to go back in for that 8 - bit one! Glad I saved few thousand extra coins. Pretty lazy... they could of at least gave us the Link Mario outfit one of the files hinted at. I know what you mean. I have a few to get through still and I've not even got Splatoon 2 yet to go through. And then I think there's a really big game being released first week of December, can't remember what it is though... Dang, I wish I could trade the skeleton outfit in for that 8-bit outfit! I appreciate these new costumes but the 8-bit outfit is a little disappointing. It's such a cool idea but I assumed it would change sprites based on if you were running, idling or jumping. Seems pretty doable to me but what we got is still cool. Not as cool as the 64 skin though. Hoping we'll get more costumes like this. It's just personal preference. I'll stick with my Satellaview Costume. It won't be enough to pull me back in for some more play any time soon, but if I ever eventually do, I will be pursuing that 8-bit suit, no doubt. The answer is no. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
