Back in 2019, Busch took the spotlight after having blasted his Joe Gibbs Racing crew members over the radio at Texas Motor Speedway. You were talking on the radio when Tony was supposed to call me from ten away and five away. So I never ****** saw the ****** pit.” Tony then stated, “Gonna be at the back of these guys, here.” To which Busch said, “No Sh*t Sherlock.” Right after, Busch’s Crew Chief, Adam Stevens told him, “Put your feathers back in order, here. Go Racing.”

So while he sat in the pit, he aggressively gave the middle finger salute to the NASCAR official standing in front of his JGR car. He was slapped with a $25,000 fine for giving the double bird. Furthermore, after deciding that it was not enough they added two more laps to further penalize him for his behavior against the official.
