Comments ) I have such a hard time taking something serious with tongue in cheek names like A-Tak or Galak-Z About time, that mobile port with freemium mechanics, online only and removal of the mech option was a complete waste of space. This game is actually worth it....saying that I probably wont double dip. So is this essentially Variant S without all the microtransaction nonsense? I enjoyed that, but the mobile roots got old after a few weeks. Yeah, this one originated on other consoles, so it shouldn't have that mobile 'feel' to it. Thanks, dood! I'll keep an eye on it, then. Always gotta scratch my Robotech itch. Played Variant S for a while, but, like with a few other freemiums in console space lately, eventually fell out of the daily grind and attendance commitment such games presuppose. Nonetheless, many aspects including the gameplay were fun enough that I'll be keeping this version on my radar instead. I enjoyed this on PS4. As with many rogue-lites, I repeatedly hit a skills plateau, but enjoyed the challenge nonetheless. When the developer previously released the mobile-adapted, freemium version (Variant S) on the Switch, I was very disappointed. Really not a similar experience at all. My guess (not based on any hard data) is that the developer and/or publisher didn’t get much traction from that release on the Switch, and so is now trying again with a port of the original. I am very tempted to pick this up, as I like the game & rarely use the PS4 now. The portable form factor of the Switch fits my life these days. I'm glad to read confirmation that this new game won't be like that freemium version that was released previously. That game irked me with the online requirement and just that annoying mobile game feel. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
