Here Are The 30 Most Downloaded Switch Games During The First Half Of 2019 In Japan
Here Are The 30 Most-Downloaded Switch Games During The First Half Of 2019 In Japan Nintendo Life Retail and digital-only games included by Share: Nintendo has shared two new lists on the Japanese eShop, revealing which games have been the most successful on its digital store throughout the first half of 2019. The first list shows the top 30 most-downloaded games that are also available in physical form, while the second shows just those which are digital-only. Naturally, this means that physical sales are not represented in any way in these charts, and it is impossible to compare the number of downloads for a game in one list to that for a game in the other. To be clear, the lists below show the most-downloaded titles on the Japanese eShop from 1st January - 30th June 2019:

30. All-in-One Package Any surprises on these lists? Super Mario Maker 2 has done well to already be in fifth position for the retail chart. [source ] Share: About Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his ‘party trick’ despite being such an introvert that he’d never be found anywhere near a party. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him. Comments ) Phew...
At least Dragon Quest Builders 2 was not forgotten.
And for My Time at Portia... Rune Factory clones still capturing Japanese audiences. I could be wrong, I need to double check, but I am pretty sure that Human Fall Flat is always near if not at the top for digital only downloads in Japan. They must really like that game. Jeez, Undertale had some good sales from those numbers for a four year old indie game. What? No Fortnite, no Warframe, no Tetris 99, no Gems of War, no Prime World Defenders? They must really dislike free to play games over there... 5 of the top ten "Digital Only" are not digital only
They might be considered digital only for the Japanese market. Although Stardew Valley in particular had a physical release specifically for the Japanese market.
Don't know about Dead Cells or Hollow Knight though. I also don't know if a physical release constitutes a retail release necessarily if it isn't through conventional retail sale, like Human Fall Flat being published by Super Rare Games. Digital sales for Mario Maker 2 must be absolutely massive given that it charted 5th during its first 3 days of sale alone. Fitness Boxing is surprisingly high on the chart. Cadence of Hyrule Is supringly low on the list.... I hope it will do well in the upcoming total game sales report I believe only the US eShop charts show free games like Fortnite & WarFrame. Fitness Boxing sold out physically after people started sharing positive results gained from using it. There wasn’t many physical copies to shift though, so I guess that helped it on the eShop. I was only half-serious, but I appreciate the info regardless. Didn't know that there was this kind of difference in eShops. Oof. Human Fall Flat is such an annoying game to play. I always get so mad at it. strange isn’t it? I suppose a free to play game gets more visibility when you can actually see it on the charts... not that something like Fortnite needs any help with visibility lol Probably just too Western for them again, much like Warframe, I suppose. Not exactly the lists I expected, but not too far off. Fortnite isn't nearly popular in Japan btw, much more popular is the mobile game Knives Out. I believe they do not count it when physical releases are international or limited editions only. I am legit surprised that Splatoon 2 is only number 10. But then again, I didn't know Puyo Puyo Champions had a physical release. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
