Cook County sheriff seeks drivers’ OK to track vehicles, speed carjacking investigationsCook County Sheriff Tom Dart is promoting carjacking-deterrent stickers that will allow police to track their vehicles in the case of a carjacking. While it seems to make sense to enable the sheriff to track your car if stolen, he needs to explain how the privacy concerns will be addressed. 'Zero, chance this will be misused' is far short of my expectations. I “love” when a politician and yes he is a politician says crime is down. While compared to last year maybe, but they are becoming more violent. No thank you. And why do we still need sheriffs? We don't. Mother, 2 children die in house fire in Nassau County, sheriff saysA mother and her two children died early Thursday morning after their Nassau County home caught fire, Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper told News4JAX. Nooo! 😔 this is terrible… how did this happen. ANDERSON — In an effort to prevent and solve crime the Madison County Sheriff's Department and the Anderson Police Department are adding license plate reader technology to their communities..a That's the tactic John Fetterman, the Democratic nominee in Pennsylvania's Senate race, used in a recent campaign video to defend his dangerous record of keeping criminals on the streets instead of in jail.Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart shows carjacking-deterrent stickers that will be mailed to drivers who sign a consent form to let police track their vehicles in the case of a carjacking. Both departments say they are adding what are called flock cameras to read the license plates of cars. The agencies say they will use them in criminal cases and in an instance when a person goes missing. Some are in support of the cameras one person told WRTV they feel more cameras need to be downtown."I'm sick of Oz talking about John Fetterman and crime. "This is one of the most exciting things to me that has come along in decades," Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger said. The flock cameras are utilized in roughly 110 agencies across the state. And we have the ability to stop future crimes,” Dart said. The cameras will capture license plates and brief descriptions of cars." PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER BLAMES BULLETS, NOT CRIMINALS, FOR MURDER But the facts show Kilkenny is not telling the truth. "We coordinated with flock utilizing our crime statistics to identify the geographical areas and locations for the cameras that we felt would be the most beneficial," Anderson Police Chief Michael Lee said. Some folks, like Cody Jones, are for the cameras to an extent. "I think Anderson has been long overdue for a reduction of crime," said Jones. Consider just some of the actions Fetterman took during his political career."As long as it's used to specifically locate criminals and only for that purpose and not to entrap and create higher ticket volume for the people in Anderson, I think it's a fair idea. The Cook County sheriff’s office will mail these two carjacking-deterring stickers to drivers who sign a consent form to let police track their vehicle if it’s stolen. " Police say the cameras can't track speed, so they won't be used to issue tickets to residents. Still, some residents don't like the cameras. Next, in another example of Fetterman's work to free criminals, in December 2021, as chairman of the Board of Pardons, Fetterman wanted to release Alexis Rodriguez, a man serving a life sentence for murdering a teenager. "I'm not sure if it's really legal," Georgianna Reed said. Reed has lived in Anderson for a long time and said she sees both sides but still has concerns. "Isn't that an invasion of privacy?," Reed said. Furthermore, it should be noted that Fetterman's vote to release Rodriguez was supported by none other than Larry Krasner, Philadelphia's useless left-wing district attorney.m. "Keeping track of where you're going. Your movements. That's what I am concerned about. These criminals clearly go beyond"nonviolent offenders and marijuana users," as he claimed." Police say the cameras aren't watched regularly and are only used when needed. The footage is stored for 30 days and deleted after that. This is a legal consent form to allow for tracking. The cameras have already been effective in other agencies. For an active sheriff from one of the state's wealthiest counties to mislead the public in this way is despicable. The Zionsville Police Department got the cameras in 2021 and they say they utilized the cameras daily. "They've been a huge tool for us we have a number of successes," Zionsville PD Captain Drake Sterling said."We have a number of successes in the criminal and the safety world as well. If the truth about Fetterman's desire to create a criminal utopia becomes more widely known, then only the most unhinged leftists would continue to support him. Like silver alerts, amber alerts things like that. " Sheriff Mellinger said policing has changed a lot since he first started as a deputy, and he welcomes the change with open arms. "This is one of the most exciting tech advances in law enforcement in a long time," Sheriff Mellinger said. The Madison County Sheriff's Department says they already have their 10 cameras up and operating. They have been using them for about two months and have already used them to solve 15 to 20 cases. The Anderson Police Department will be getting 21 new cameras by the end of the year. TOP STORIES: People living in storage units?
