If Pokemon GO and Pokemon Duel haven't given you your fill of mobile Pokemon games, perhaps Magikarp Jump will succeed where they failed. Another day, another Pokemon game on mobile. If Pokemon GO and Pokemon Duel haven't given you your fill of mobile Pokemon games, perhaps Magikarp Jump will succeed where they failed. Yes, you heard right, The Pokemon Company has given the utterly useless Magikarp its own game. . Millions of people played it, and everyone else knew about it. Augmented reality played a crucial role in the success of Pokemon GO, but The Pokemon Company clearly thinks the franchise itself is popular enough to fuel more mobile games.

Make Magikarp Jump

First there was Pokemon GO, then Pokemon Duel. And now there's . Jump is a very different game than GO or Duel. GO lets you catch Pokemon in real-world locations, and Duel lets you battle other trainers on a virtual board. Jump lets you make a Magikarp jump. OK, so there's a little more to it than that. You catch a Magikarp, train it up, bond with it, and then pitch it against other Magikarp. You'll guide your Magikarp through eight leagues until it reaches retirement age. You'll then do the whole thing again with another Magikarp. If this sounds a little dumb then that's because it is. However, dumb mobile games often succeed, with Flappy Bird being the ultimate proof. This is the perfect mobile game for anyone who loves Pokemon but who hasn't got the time and/or inclination to tackle the main series. Magikarp Jump is available and , and is, thankfully, free to play. There are optional in-app purchases available, but our advice is to keep your money tucked firmly in your wallet or purse. Why? Because you really don't need whatever that in-app purchase buys.

Making Up for Lost Time

You have to give credit to The Pokemon Company. After waiting too long to bring the franchise to smartphones, they're now making up for lost time with a succession of mobile titles.
