Sharks, dinos and bugs - oh my! by Share: Sure, showed off lots of awesome and important features coming to New Horizons like , , and , but there's one more thing we really wanted to focus on. The museum! The return of the series' museum was actually given away yesterday thanks to due for release soon after the game's launch, but today's Direct was the first time we've been able to check it out. If you watched the show, you likely won't need us to tell you, but the whole thing is absolutely gorgeous. The first part of the museum we saw was the building itself from the outside. Nothing too extravagant, but lovely all the same. Things start to get more interesting when you take a step back, though. This is the path leading up to the museum (although it's not yet clear whether this path will be as customisable as your main island areas). Either way, the design on show here is beautiful. We're guessing this dug-up dino was too big to fit inside? We hope the rain doesn't do any damage! We've saved the best for last, of course. Just look at the areas inside New Horizons' museum - sections for your bugs, fish and fossils are all here, but they're presented in what we consider to be the most stunning looking aesthetic the series has seen by far. We can't wait to load these up with our finds. If you missed the Direct itself, make sure to or view . Excited to start your new island life on 20th March? Tell us below. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him. Comments ) Holy Animals, everything looks fantastic! The Museum does look amazing, though I'm kind of hoping you can arrange the different sections yourself. Or keep the upper floor place where you can decorate your own little museums, and having that space to create like, your own aquarium with your favourite kinds of fish and all that. It was always such a shame that you could only ever put fish in a single tank and not really combine it to make your own aquarium at home. Either way this is looking really amazing and I can't wait! Slopes? Is this article making a Super Mario Maker 2 joke? Anyone else notice that you can place completed fossils outside? The museum looks amazing, but I have no idea how it all fits in that building... Dr Who confirmed Was already looking for another ReTail Game to buy... Not anymore ! Pretty sure those paths are inside the museum, not leading up to it. You can see the fish in the river rather than just shadows. But that also means that bugs and fish are in the same room, and some fish are swimming around in rivers in the museum rather than tanks. That's awesome if I am interpreting those pictures correctly! so pretty. .. I have so many memories just spending time walking in each museum. very calming i noticed that the Nintendo direct saying something about how the museum needs to be build like everything else. it is so nice that the town can be fully customized. does that mean that Blathers does not have his certification for examining fossils for when the museum opens? i think it would be a nice addition to the game if he had to earn his certification. mailing the fossils to be examined was a pain in the GameCube version at times, but it would be nice to see him learn and grow. of course then, i did so much time-skipping in the game that Blathers eventually said that he earned his certification. too bad you still had to mail the fossils in. unfortunately. the system clock for when setting the game only goes to 12/31/2030, but if you keep playing the game, the clock can go past 01/01/2019. unfortunately if you want it to go past that, you will have to leave your system on and leave the session active and no one wants to leave the game running 24 hours a day. Why NLife screenshots are always low quality? The moment my jaw dropped to the floor, stunning! Not sure if it's the elephant in the room nobody is talking about or just my newness to AC but the video and picture say "planned" so should we expect the museum to be a patch months after release or will it appear in the game after a day or 3 like the airport? A lot of AC articles today but I haven't seen this addressed, the way the 2nd video in the Direct was "planned". It almost made it seem lijebonly half or 2/3 of the game would be ready at release w/ the rest coming later. But being new to AC "later" could mean 4 or 5 hours played, IDK. Cool and all, but where are the paintings? That was everyone's favorite part! It's truly gorgeous! I could see myself getting engrossed in the environment and actually wanting to spend time in the museum. Thanks. As I said I'm new to AC, but looking around at games these days would it really surprise you if components get added to the game after it releases? How many updates did New Leaf get? Welcome amiibo was a big one that you could actually buy on cart and included the island survival game from amiibo Festival. So even AC isn't immune to updates. Not saying your'e wrong, you're probably right, but when a 27 minutes video gets broken into 3 parts and 1 of those parts is "things that are planned" well I think it's only natural to ask when are they planned to be released? This isn't 2008. Nintendo being Nintendo. Yeah, I got confused by that, too. But I guess, the video was form the point of view of Nook Inc, so it's like the travel company is planning to develop the island some more "later". But for the player it would be just after some set playing time or reaching some development level or something. I went back and looked over the Live stream comments and nobody mentioned it there either, so I guess everyone knew but me. It happens. Just went back and looked over the 7, count'em seven, AC articles on NL today, not counting the Live stream, and it's only really mentioned in the middle of this article. I think the way the info on the museum followed the update info, all in that middle features section, might have added to my confusion I really don't want to get the game, I just stopped playing Gems of War after over 300 straight days and I don't really need another addiction right now, but I am tempted. Those 9 AC amiibo are just sitting there, staring at me, begging me to take them out of their boxes. I have time. Yes! My daughter would never upgrade her house and would just squat in those extra rooms in the museum with her furniture. Good times! Small correction, the third and fourth pictures are inside the museum itself, not the path leading up to it It's the bug area from all the previous games. In all honesty, it's not 100% clear just yet, but it hadn't really crossed my mind until you mentioned it. Like others have said, my guess would be that it will be available when the game intends for you to access it - maybe after a few days on the island or once you've completed certain tasks - but not locked behind a future update.
You´re absolutely right. I´ve just noticed all the signs, fences and arrows pointing directions, and some fish clearly in the water as opposite to just shadows. Those paths are definetely inside the museum. Yeah, I've been caught up to speed on how AC seems to work. Gotta say, AC fans are the nicest fans, not one person called me an idiot, that's rare these days. I'm thinking of buying the game as self-medication. Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Buy it for a happier you, you don't even need a prescription! Haha, they are a refreshingly lovely bunch, yep! I hope we still have a paintings section and upper museum floors we can use to put in our own stuff. In new leaf i used the upper floors to create exhibits out of the fortune cookie items and loved it. This looks so much better than the one in ACNL. This game looks so much better than ACNL Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
