Airhead Brings New Metroidvania-Style Platforming To Switch In 2021 Nintendo Life

"An immersive 2.5D platform experience" by Share: on Nintendo Switch will be getting its hands (and head) on a promising looking platformer next year in the form of , it has been announced. The game has you diving into dark caverns and exploring ancient structures in a bid to solve the mystery of Head's significance in this world. You see, you'll be playing as Body, who joins Head - a head that has lost his air-pumping heart - on an adventure full of friendship and responsibility. We're struggling to wrap our heads around it all, so let's quickly pass you over to this official description: Start your adventure as Body, who witnesses the tragic separation of Head and his air-pumping heart by an unknown machine. As the heart is taken away, Body jumps into action to save the abandoned Head. You must use the air tanks scattered around the world to keep Head inflated and uncover the true connection behind the stolen heart and the technology that litters your dystopian world. Wrap your head around unique mechanics and experience brave exciting gameplay, all while collecting sweet upgrades! These "unique mechanics" are used to complete the game's puzzle-solving elements, which require you to use both Head and Body separately and together. You can see some of this going on in the trailer above. Key Features
- An immersive 2.5D platform experience in a Metroidvania-style world
- A beautiful art style, embracing bold color and bleak shadow
- Challenging puzzles must be solved by clever use of Head and Body’s synergy
- Loads of powerful upgrades that open doors to new areas
- A personal story of companionship, discovery, and responsibility
- A myriad of creatures and machines to hinder or help you on your adventure As noted above, the game is scheduled to launch on Switch and other platforms in 2021, so we still have a while to wait before we can get stuck in. Looks like it could be one worth keeping an eye out for, though. What do you think? Are you liking the look of Airhead? Share your thoughts with us below. Share: About Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his ‘party trick’ despite being such an introvert that he’d never be found anywhere near a party. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him. Comments ) The presentation is pretty damn cool. Something i would definitely want to give a shot! If March 2020 never ends how are we ever going to get to 2021? Looks more like a cinematic platformer (ala Prince of Persia, Another World, et al) than a Metroidvania. I enjoy both genres so I'll keep an eye on this one. I like the aesthetics and the game speed. Just a little nitpicking (because "life" at the moment is boring as f***), but 'Metroidvania' should only apply to Castlevania games in Metroid gamestyle. UNLESS these games also include typical Castlevania elements. Then they could be called 'Metroidvania'. ? I'll keep my eye on this. Literally, apparently. Just a little counter-nitpicking: sorry, but the term is well established, and applies whether or not there are Metroid or Castlevania elements to a game. Oh wauw..
At first i was like nah pas..
But after watching the gameplay, mann look darnnnn good! I will give it a shot.
Then it should be de-established. ? Planet Alpha x Inside x Morphies Law. [EDIT] You’re right, it definitely has that Another World vibe about it. Also, props for using a’la and et al in the same sentence! Yay another Metroidvania style game that I probably may or may not buy. Makes me think of Unravel 2. I was hoping it was a Zelda-inspired 16-bit looking metroidvania... I love Metroidvanias and I'm even I'm a little sick of seeing the term attached to every new indie game that comes out. Still though, this looks pretty awesome. Hope they can deliver with the gameplay Watch out for this one!! I'm going to predict this one will rock. You can tell they are going for a new mechanic and it looks like it's implemented incredible well. Reminds me of how different Snake Pass looked and controlled etc... It looks a bit like a game by Playhead-erm sorry, Playdead. Name first made me think it was a candy-licensed game. But that's Airheads. This game sounds better.
Although last year I watched a steam of a delisted Sour Patch Kids game Capcom published on PS3 and it didn't look like the worst game I've ever seen. Doesn’t look much like a Castletroid to me. But the art style is sublime! A metroidvania platformer? It's either or, but it can't be both. It's like talking about a gun free 3rd person 2D FPS, it wouldn't make any sense Looks very weird, but interesting. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
