Reminder: Tetris 99's Limited-Time Xenoblade Chronicles Event Is Now Live Nintendo Life Unlock another special theme by Share: Image: This weekend is celebrating the release of on the Nintendo Switch with a special themed event. This limited-time event ends on 6th July. If you participate and happen to earn 100 points, you'll unlock a special Xenoblade Chronicles theme featuring some appropriate sound effects. The higher you place in each match, the more points you'll unlock. Here's what it looks like: 14th MAXIMUS CUP, featuring : Definitive Edition! Earn at least 100 event points in the Tetris 99 mode from 7/3, 12am PT to 7/6, 11:59pm PT to unlock the Tetris 99 theme! - Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) To participate in this upcoming online event, you'll need to have a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Yes but I would assume you get some good item rewards for it, and it somewhat counting to the event of 1 million trainers beating Zeraora to get a shiny one for every trainer. Xenoblade Tetris. Heck yeah. This game is becoming more mainstream and I love it. It's a shame they won't do themes for games already out or retro, I would love a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 theme. My favorite is the Game Boy one! NOW I'M REALLY FEELING IT! Although kind of odd that they are doing this after the game is out. Why not before? I feel like them doing this opens the door to that. XCDE is already out after all. Now they have set the precedent that they can do themes for games already out. I swear, if You Will Know Our Names wasnt anywhere in this thing, this event would've been a hard pass for me. Bonus points for rightfully making it the Final 10 theme in this~ Good song selection over all. 2/3 for me. Not a big fan of the first song. It would be perfect if it went: You Will Know Our Names, Mechanical Rhythm, and An Obstacle In Our Path; or in reverse order. Very cool! I haven't played Tetris 99 in a very long time, but special collaborations like this are always cool! I totally agree! The Game Boy theme is classic! I find the Animal Crossing theme very relaxing especially when the game kicks into high gear. I don't play Animal Crossing but I find myself using that one to focus better. I also like the Fire Emblem theme even though I'm not a Fire Emblem player. The music to it makes the game more epic during all the parts. I guess I'm weird that way. So how long for an average player would it take to get that amount of points?
I genuinely have no clue XD I'm in. Getting this theme too. I heave nearly all themes already. I guess there will be Paper Mario Theme soon too. it takes me less than an hour to get to over 100 points. I am really feeling it.... This is cool but I was hoping there'd be some cheesy voice lines when you get a Tetris That had to do it, didn't they? They had to come up with some reason to pry me away from XC:DE. Dirty rotten Nintendo with their wonderful game, honestly, it edges on immoral. I’ve been out of the game for long but this will get me back in quickly Sounds good, always love a reason to boot it back up. No Eshop gold points up for grabs this time? Got the theme unlocked
I really like the theme, will be one I use a lot Got my 100 points for the Xenoblade theme board. A low key 4th of July weekend at home means a lot of gaming time. Tetris 99 is easily the game I've put the most time into on the Switch since I got it. Can't wait to get back to this game.I only play it when a new theme is out.Of course if all I hear is 'We make a great team!' over and over while playing I may give up sooner than later however. Gots all nine Special Themes thus far (including this one), so I'm good for now. Hopefully Paper Mario (The Origami King) is next in the Special Themes line... Still haven’t played Xenoblade, but I love the theme. The music’s awesome. Agree about the Animal Crossing theme music, its so chill I seem to play better. Keep the themes coming. I’ll get this theme later. Love an excuse to come back to Tetris 99, amazing game. Really, REALLY wish we could shuffle our themes, I’ve got them all, or I will have when I get this after work. Nice to know that I still remember how to play. It's been a while, but I still managed to get several top 10 finishes, despite not playing in like a month. ANSWER: Look carefully into the main menu and you will find plenty of themes from games already out or retro. Now it's line time! In a first for me I sat down yesterday prepared to play X amount of games to earn the theme and got Tetris Maximus on the 3rd game which gave me all the points needed. On a side note I don't play Xenoblade however the tune that plays when you get below 50 players is very progressive metal. Love it! Yes, me too.. I only play it enough to get the theme then don't play it again....
Apologies, i never got round to thanking you sop doing it now...thanks I got it in about the time, then read the controls and discovered the hold mechanic and the instant drop button.... I am now much better at Tetris XD good. The good thing is that any event skins you've missed you can still acquire. You just need to spend time clocking up coins during the daily tasks.
