Random 3D Printed Rainbow Road Takes Mario Kart Live Home Circuit To A Whole Other Level
Random: 3D-Printed Rainbow Road Takes Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit To A Whole Other Level Nintendo Life We've all been doing it wrong by Share: on The fact that allows you to design your own real-life tracks means that the creative freedom available is already through the roof, but some are now taking that to wonderful extremes. 3D printer manufacturer, BCN3D, has decided to take things into its own hands and create a surprisingly accurate version of Rainbow Road. As you'll see in the video above, the design is a recreation of Mario Kart's most famous track as it was seen in on the SNES. Two engineers and ten employees helped to create and put together the 4,000 piece track, which apparently ended up being five metres long in total. It's pretty cool seeing Mario whizz around Rainbow Road in real life, right? Still yet to pick up Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit? to help you make your mind up. Related Games Share: About Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his ‘party trick’ despite being such an introvert that he’d never be found anywhere near a party. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him. Comments ) Solid design, especially since they printed it hollow, probably hundreds of dollars of filament That looks awesome! Definitely not a track you want to fall off. This is super cool Love that people can throw the budget at something like this. Looks awesome, and great marketing by the 3D printer maker. Still the best track from the series, really sorts the men from the boys. Now just get rid of those idiotic blue shells... Not accurate. Should be suspended over an eternal abyss. Some days this is a really great hobby. Awesome job! I love the SNES Rainbow Road track Still play it online on MK7 It's a lovely tribute to my favourite track... but if they're going to go to that much effort, why not go that bit further and make it wide enough for multiple-kart racing? It's pretty narrow as it is. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is brilliant. I unexpectedly got one this week. Love it. Does anyone else think the title implies there might be other versions to come in a Mario Kart Live series? Mario Kart Live: Street Circuit anyone? This would be a fantastic advertisement for Mario Kart Live if Nintendo were inclined to reward the effort by licensing the video (or whatever the right legalese is for paying for the right to officially endorse / use is). That's awesome, I just wish the video had direct game capture to really show it off! I can't wait to see videos of custom Lego Super Mario levels. Those will be crazy! This is EXACTLY the sort of thing I wanted to see people make with this game. It's so cool ! ... also couldn't help but whistle the rainbow road music as I was watching XD Awesome, but needs to be wider for competitive racing. I don't think two carts could fit side-by-side on that track. Probably more fun than the real game as there's no chance of Donkey Kong bumping into the back of your kart and causing you to be squashed by a Thwomp and then Luigi drives through you while invincible knocking you off the edge of the track. It is really cool, but it needs to be raised higher so the car is destroyed when it falls off, no risk, no reward just like the real rainbow road from SNES. This is exactly what I was waiting for. I just knew someone would do something epic with this game. That's brilliant, but it might have been quicker and cheaper to laser it out of perspex. Now this is exactly where I saw this game going! Utterly brilliant! Oh boi I wonder how the cats will act.. probably wasn't that impressive in game. It would have had no flair outside the track itself looking colorful I really wish they put a game card in the box as I’m really not tempted to buy without. They can suspend it off the ground with string if they super glue the track together That and I would just love for someone to figure out what the actual REAL cost "would be" for someone to do this at home with a single avg sub $200-$500.00 3D printer..? They also really need to start blending/melding this into the VR Kits before that becomes a forgotten item... it does seem a bit narrow. when I create custom tracks at home, I make the tracks as wide as the starting/finish line (the four check points) which is approx 22in. (55.88 cm) wide. and yes! I love this Rainbow Road remake! looks awesome!! Just curious, has anyone tried scanning a copy of those arrow sign boards and printing more of it and see if the game also recognizes it? Also, do the AI racers avoid hitting those arrow signs? If they do, it could be a good way to make the AI recognize real-world obstacles by attaching the signs to it. That would be excellent I’ve been tempted to try but haven’t done so. I feel that it would recognize it. I'm wondering how they did the close in overhead shots of the cart in motion. Like Mario Maker, I have a feeling this one will be something where I enjoy seeing other's creativity more than doing it myself. Hello creativity, good-bye friendships. Joking aside, that's pretty awesome. You can download printable arrow signs and replacement checkpoints from the Nintendo website The company now needs to make and sell these rainbow blocks.. i believe there’s a market for it! : They could sell buckets full of track pieces (and obstacles?) corresponding to specific themes a la Lego. 0/10 No room for other players. Call me when someone remakes Rainbow Road from "Mario Kart 7" in real life. Rainbow Road Disappointing that they didn't show off any full screen footage playing the track. That's what I really wanted to see. No, I don't think it in any way is an implication of anything of the sort. Not even slightly. Pretty cool, hopefully 3D printing tech becomes widespread enough that more people can do stuff like this OK. That's admittedly pretty cool. Hopefully, they made the tech this game uses in a way that they could easily add expansions and new features.
Say for example Piranha Plant Sign boards that come to life in the game or anything that helps the AI racers interact with the real-world obstacles you place. Sony should help revive Twisted Metal! And I think AR Remote control versions would be an interesting way to do it. And just like that they got me interested in their printers, Until I saw the prices! So cool! I might want Mario Kart Home Circuit one day! It looks so creative! like Luton? What’s Luton? Exactly Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
