Whether it’s in this capacity or some other.”Lott grew up wanting to be an entertainer. So the students are his audience.“Since I couldn’t make it to the big leagues, sorta speak in that,” Mr. Lott said. “I said you know what. Even though SAISD has more than 3,100 full-time teachers, they are always looking for more to accommodate student’s needs. “Currently, we have about 1,500 active substitutes,” Gutiérrez said. “Those are degreed, non-degreed, certified, retired. “Technology helps out a lot but we also need working bodies on our farms,” she said. ” For Lott, being back in the classroom is bigger than just lending a hand. He’s been in this community his whole life. So he wants to see the next generation succeed. “Helping the community that I live in,” Mr. Lott said. “Help students get to where they need to be.
