Dead Cells Has Now Sold 5 Million Copies Worldwide Nintendo Life

Recent Chinese launch is attributed to latest sales milestone by Share: Image: has been with us for nearly three years at this point, and its still going strong. Launched back in 2018, Motion Twin's action-platformer has received some tremendous post-launch support ever since, including January's DLC. Having previously reached last year, Motion Twin and Evil Empire just announced that confirmed Dead Cells surpassed 5 million copies worldwide. This milestone is thanks to the recent iOS/Android launch in China, which sold 1 million units in "just a few days". It's clear both teams aren't giving up on Dead Cells just yet, and Switch owners may recall it got a free back in January, too. If you've not dived in yet, we giving this experience a look, calling it a "masterclass in excellent roguelike design". I hope for a sequel one day! Let my friend borrow it when it first came out on physical, as I had quite a backlog. He still has it, but my backlog has just got bigger, so will get round to playing it at some point, if I ever get it back I have not finished this game yet I got kinda side tracked with cuphead and crash LOL. Started this earlier in the week, didn't stick with me after the first 20 minutes. I think it more has to do with being tired of the genre than to the quality of the game itself Great game, well deserved. Waiting for another sale to get this one. well then your in luck bc it goes on sale pretty often. I've reached the final boss a couple times on 2BC difficulty, but just can't manage to beat it. From what I've seen of 3BC and onwards, I think this is as far as I will go. Great game! Highly recommended. Dumped at least a couple hundred hours into it. I'll likely get sucked back in the next time DLC drops What an amazing game. Congrats to the devs! Such lovely music in a game that is so punishing! I love it’s atmosphere and humor, too. Let’s all take a moment and chill in quiet celebration: MUSICAL NINJA APPROVED That’s news to me, what plagiarist are you referencing?
2BC took me over a hundred hours. 3BC I did on my third attempt. 4BC... I gave up in utter dismay. I arrived in the final boss on 2BC with all the flasks full, daaamn strong. and I was crushed.. i'm almost giving up on 2BC.. I only need to improve in the final boss..
but it's an AMAZING game.. if you have no fear of hard games, you all should try! That’s a brilliant achievement I suck at it but couldn’t be more pleased for them does the game have adjustable difficulty? I have shied away from this bc it seems hard I understand, and as soon as you said IGN I remembered what that story was. Thank you! Why the heck would the game be remembered for a single plagiarized review from IGN? Actually, nevermind, I can see how that could happen, it's just that Dead Cells is such a monumental success now that seems like an amusing footnote at most. Like, "Remember that guy who threw an egg at Arnold Schwarzenegger once?" Sort of? The game starts on "Normal" and you unlock harder difficulties each time you beat the final boss (each time you beat a boss, you gain a "Boss Cell" which is where you get the whole 2BC/4BC etc) As you go through you can unlock new skills and weapons that will become available for future playthroughs. You will likely reach a point where it might be considered too hard to play any further, but you will have almost certainly gotten your moneys worth out of the game by then. This game is balanced more towards skill than luck, so while it's tough, it is - generally - fair, and the difficulty ramps up in a way that makes sense. The controls are super responsive and the story/lore is most definitely second to actual gameplay (no long cutscenes or times where you're standing around doing nothing). It's an amazing game. It has great support from the devs, but sometimes I wonder if the support might be too great... See, I also bought the game back on Steam during its Early Access period so I'm somewhat familiar with many of the iterations it's been through. Thing is, the game gets tweaked a lot. Like, character builds and strats that carried you through the game in one update might be rendered completely and irrevocably useless in the next. Some examples that come to mind are the frost blast/ice bow builds that were awesome around v1.0, but have been nerfed almost beyond redemption now. The devs also haven't been afraid to reverse course on balancing - once upon a time they thankfully made slower and more meticulous gameplay viable by easing up on speed-based rewards and giving more benefits to players who took the time to clear the map of mobs. But a more recent update to its "malaise" feature has made rushing the new meta again on higher difficulty levels. As a longer time player I've mourned the loss of beloved builds because of the game's sometimes unpredictable direction, but I guess more occasional players may think it's cool to feel like they're getting a different game with each new update. Reading this article reminds me I won a competition for the Prisoner’s Edition of this game... like a year ago lol never got it, delayed because of COVID then never heard anything else it does, in fact, you earn the right to play harder levels by succeeding the previous level. Try it, I managed to win in the first level and I'm not very competent. It's an amazing game, usually this kind of games doesn't interest me but this one won me over. I will keep an eye on it, as it goes on sale a lot. Have u or any one else played Hollow Knight? How is it by comparison in difficulty? I lost interest bc it was too hard. I probably need to play it with a friend who games to help me through the hard parts, lol. hollow knight is a platformer and you have to play it in a particular way. Dead cells is action you can adapt to your own style of play so it becames "easier", and most of all very enjoyable. Could you drop us an email via the contact form? I'll look into this for you. no problem, thank you. I’m not whinging, just this article reminded me about it lol The game deserves 5 billion copies sold. To piggyback on what stated, one of the millions of updates drastically lowered the difficulty (and monotony) with the addition of a customization menu. That said, the game always worked like an RPG. By replaying the levels (which do at least gradually change) you’re essentially farming for precious experience points in the form of health buffs. excellent. I will definitely get it when it goes on sale again. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
