Also I'll never understand why Polaroid or this Fujifilm paper is so expensive. Yeah I thought it would let you print photos just straight out of New Pokemon Snap, that would have been pretty awesome. Because Nintendo... they make great games, but when it comes to hardware convenience and services, they're usually a decade or so behind the compatition. Its pretty impressive and it would be cool to have an album of a complete pokemon snap dex but boy, that would work out expensive. Just for informations sake it's gotta be said, these are TRUE analogue photos. Think polaroids. They will slowly develop and no shaking or blowing on them will not speed things up. Personally I think this is a pretty weird (and expensive) application to use real self-developing film for. If you ever get your hands on fujifilms instax mini cameras, especially the neo 90 and the SQ 6, those make really nice analogue photos that are vivid and "soft", especially when taking pictures out in nature. Printing digital art on it... meh. Not for me. The 'paper' is so expensive because it's self developing, it's not just a blank canvas for a device to spray ink onto. The printer doesn't contain ink cartridges and you never have to buy ink or replace anything in the printer itself, it just needs the special paper. and Actually, since you can export your Screenshots from the Switch on one Way or another, just print them with a Printer that doesn't cost you as much. I mean, for Quality you could even put them on your Smartphone and bring them to your a local Store that has one of those Photoboxes, were you can send your pictures and print them. There is no reason to waste anybodys Money on those enviroument unfriendly cost expansive Printers. so this isn't actually a new device, though the marketing would make you think so. From what I gather this is an existing smartphone printer, it just now comes with a Pikachu shell and the app has been updated with Nintendo themed frames and stickers. I imagine it probably wasn't considered worth the effort to develop a Switch app for the device seeing as it isn't specifically designed for the Switch. thats alot better idea. I've had an Instax Mini for a while and the Switch stuff is actually in a separate app which they only released on Friday. One cool thing that the Switch one does though is use the Switch image transfer QR codes directly from the app to transfer the photo directly into the app for printing. The photos are very different from what you get from a photo place and more like Polaroid photos. They are also a lot more fun and great to print instantly at parties, etc. that's actually pretty cool that you can use the QR codes in that way. I've considered getting an Instax as I fancy an instant printer, sounds like a cool device.
