Amid His Hendrick Motorsports Allegiance Kyle Larson Reveals He Has Met the Same Dark Fate as Kyle Busch

But the two might have even more in common than just being Cup Series Champions and having the same first name. Both of them have been very vocal about their intentions of running in the Indy500. ADVERTISEMENT Article continues below this ad Although both of them would be an amazing addition to the single-seater racing series, there has always been something or another keeping it from happening. Obviously, besides their crucial role as drivers for the owners they race for, some obstacle or another keeps them from making the leap. Unfortunately, Busch talked about his possibility of running the Indy500 next year, which according to , “It kind of went dark. It all dried up.” As sad as it is, the dream of him in a single-seater car next year seems to be no more than a dream yet. But there is no harm in staying optimistic. However, optimism seems hard to gather because Larson’s perspective is quite similar, “Nothing has moved forward with it. If something came to me that was in a competitive car, I would jump right on it.” Fortunately, the Hendrick Motorsports driver opened up a little more on the restrictions, as he quoted his fellow name-sharing Cup Series , “I just think there’s so limited rides when you’re engine restricted to one manufacturer. It’s tough. I read where Kyle (Busch) kind of stalled out. It’s just tough, but I want to do it.” But Busch might have a better chance now. Although Busch has been intending to run the series for a long time, it didn’t seem like an option because as a Toyota driver, he had no leverage.
