Video: Game Boy Advance On Nintendo Switch Online? Here's How It Could Look Nintendo Life We hope you're watching, Nintendo by Share: on We're pretty fond of the Nintendo Switch, and we'd never say no to a lazy Sunday with an old Game Boy Advance favourite, but what if the two could somehow combine, existing as one in some kind of online service yet to be dreamt up by the Nintendo gods? Oh, hang on a minute... Yes, the Nintendo Switch Online service already has its own dedicated and apps, giving players of all ages the chance to load up old classics and see what all the fuss was about, but we – and plenty of others – have often found ourselves dreaming of other legacy systems arriving on the service. There are plenty of great consoles with even better libraries that we could pick from, and the Game Boy Advance is right up there. As such, we (and by 'we', we basically mean our friendly video overlord Alex) took it upon ourselves to create a mock-up of how this could look, inspired by . You know, should Nintendo ever decide to make our dreams a reality. You know you want it. - Image: Nintendo Life So sit back, give the video a watch, and indulge in what could one day be a whole new way to play your GBA games. Pretty please, Nintendo? Share: About Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his ‘party trick’ despite being such an introvert that he’d never be found anywhere near a party. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him. Comments ) I thought this was officially announced at first, and my heart skipped a beat. Lord I thought this was real when I saw it, my heart drop't, damn it NL! You changed your profile pic again? I like it. Nothing would fill this little heart of mine with more joy than being able to play Fusion and Zero Mission on the Switch. Reason for the reupload, please? We all know how this would look like. I mean, NES and SNES Online were basically identical in terms of design... Its a video. Gameboy Advance on Nintendo Switch Online(?) No(,) money down(!) Wow, I never would have guessed that the fictional GBA app would look identical to the NES and SNES apps that already exist. Colour me surprised. No way Nintendo want to make money. Don't be silly. They cant even give us folders and themes let alone something to play. I'm off to play with my expensive calculator Yup I change it all the time cause I get bored of them quickly. I've been watching Re:Zero lately and I like Rem so I thought I would use her. Might keep this one longer than usual cause I really like it. Frankly, just do the whole Gameboy line. Yeah that would mean black and white/green games but you can incorporate features like the Super Gameboy borders, colour options, and so on. It would just be a healthy injection on new subscription content that can be milked for months and months unlike the current state of the NES/SNES apps. I doubt we'll ever see GBA NSO on Switch, the 3DS never got GBA games either except for those few Ambassador free games so my guess is the GBA and maybe N64 and GameCube games may had been save for Switch Pro. Heck we hadn't even seen regular Game Boy and Game Boy Color games yet so it'll be a long time until we get GBA or probably never at all. This gave me a mini heart attack. I thought this was official. This would be great and everyone wants it, but i'm unsure what Nintendo's motivation would be. The Switch will be their best selling system ever and they are drowning in profits. Why would they go through the trouble of putting up some of the GBA library? Most Switch users ( i'm guessing) are already subscribing to their online service. Jesus, the way this is phrased made me think this was finally happening for a second before finishing the rest of the title. Who's Rem? GBA games have a higher chance at coming NSO then Gamecube games I'd give anything for something like this to come to the Switch. The NES and SNES were just a little before my time so I have zero nostalgia for these titles other than the ones subsequently released to Gameboy. If Nintendo fancies that for some appeal boost or long-term marketing roadmap reason and secures a handful of third party roms to mix their own offerings with, it'll happen. But anyone honestly expecting them to do so "just because", solely pandering to some mythical "goodwill capital" crap or keeping up with the Ryans in the neighbourhood... might want to dust off a few wiki lists and look what PS+ started off with. I missed out on the GBA, so I wish this would happen so I could see what I missed! I gave up on Nintendo and their continual lackluster attempts at a Virtual Console a while ago, but now that I have a modded GBA (seriously, an original model GBA with an iPS v2 screen and maybe a rechargeable battery is all you'll ever need), I don't think I'll be looking back. It's a shame, but they've also had over a decade to get it right. I'd recommend this route instead for anyone still looking for a retro Gameboy fix. This really needs to happen. Throw in regular Game Boy and Game Boy Color as well while you're at it. We shouldn't skip that good ol' gaming brick. Nintendo desperately needs to put GB, GBA and N64 games on Switch online service. Why? Because these are among the most pirated/emulated console so they could at least use these old titles to sell more subscriptions to NSO. Does this sounds reasonable enough, Nintendo? What's the point of these articles. We all Nintendo should do these things. We all know that they could do these things. But, we all know they won't do these things because... reasons. I thought GBA games actually got added there for a split second! Dang it! Sometimes dreams can come true one of the main characters in Re:Zero. Can’t really say much without spoiling the show but she’s super sweet and really powerful. Hopefully an announcement at E3. They really need something to make online work. As it’s got no proper voice chat, and a really boring online game selection. This would be super awesome and a great surprise. But at this point you have to wonder why Nintendo hasn't already done this. Or the original GameBoy. Or the N64. The DS. The Gamecube. I'm starting to wonder if Nintendo analytics has figured out that it's not worth the time and effort to add these games/emulated systems because it's not driving up subscriber numbers/revenue. That thumbnail was a real scummy thing to do, man All I want is mario rpg on the snes app Sorry, I don't know anyone called Rem. /s I don't even mind if it's a small selection. I'd be happy if it were just Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission on Switch.
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and Mario vs Donkey Kong would be icing on the cake. if that's what goes in I would be too happy, playing Metroid on the Switch is a dream !! Finally GBA games on the go! ... wait a minute!!! If GBA was brought to the Switch - I would never have one bad thing to say about Nintendo ever again... GBA games are in that well more likely to get remakes than anything else. The 3ds was not powerful enough to handle GBA emulation. The ambassador games ran natively, in DS mode. Hence why people were asking GBA games for 3DS at the time. They don't want to play emulation versions, they want to play the native versions through DS mode and the Ambassador versions are proof that it could be done. The only reason we are not seeing new systems like GBA on NSO is because Nintendo are clearly seeing a huge success in profits on NSO and the Switch ecosystem in general to the point they are unmotivated to give us more. It's laziness feed by greediness. They are riding high on this latest current success and just riding the wave. It's times like this I remember Nintendo is just another fat-cat company with a friendly face pretending to be all about the fun of the user. I guarantee you this is nothing to do with the fabled Switch Pro. If Nintendo do fulfil their original intent to give us more systems then it will be for all NSO subscribers on all Switch models. The only possible exception could be Gamecube if (and I'll be highly surprised if this is the case since we've seen Tegra 1 chips running emulated Gamecube already) the current models can't handle that emulation to an exceptable level. If GBA and N64 come it'll definitely be available for all. As I say Nintendo are just being stingy and lazy now the market is in their pocket again - otherwise we'd have had a new system every year like they initially hinted at. I still await for Game Boy (Color) games to come to Switch... I'm pretty sure nobody knew the 3DS could do native GBA until it actually happened through the Ambassador programme, so why would people be asking for native GBA if they didn't know it existed? Meh, I would be more impressed with N64 online Nintendo what are you waiting to give us GBA/N64 and Game Cube in Switch Online? We're getting 64. Mario and Zelda 35th or whatever. I'll wager my child. Not gonna lie, i would enjoy playing LOZ Minish Cap and Metroid Fusion on my Switch Ha, you wish. Your lucky you can play nes and snes games (in which you can only borrow) on switch.
Ill stick to my rusty ol wiiu, still playing gba, snes, n64 and wii games which i own don’t worry, someone here got the joke Because it's easy to emulate and has already popped up on the Wii U's VC, we'll never get GBA titles on our Switch. That would require minimal effort on Nintendo's part I think they would announce classic Gameboy/Color first. I want this so much! You call this newsworthy? Yes! PLEASE! We beg you Nintendo! Nintendo, don't listen to this crazy article. GBA games look terrible when the graphics are blown up far beyond the size of the GBA screen. The GBA games I've played on the 3DS already show the limitations of the software. The backgrounds during the battles in the Golden Sun games look extremely ugly when blown up to 3DS size, so just imagine what they'll look like on an even bigger screen. The graphics of most GBA games would look horrendous on the Switch. I've only been asking for a Game Boy line Switch Online app since oh idk, forever! ... Wun can only hope. Anybody got a list of games with multiplayer support, from the Gameboy Advance. I wonder which games would benefit from such an app? It would be nice, if they added an emulated HD, "Super Gameboy" (Snes), to the Nintendo Switch.
On the 3DS Gen 1 & 2 Pokémon games are $9.99 each.
They could release all 6 in a "HD experience", collection for $60 to $80. Nintendo, don't listen to this guy. Give us GBA games. That's a "Switch Advance" exclusive. No, Nintendo, wait a minute! Do NOT listen to PoeTheLizard! He has an agenda. He's a Sony-Microsoft spy whose job it is to give you bad advice so that you'll become the laughing stock of the gaming world. He wants you to put GBA games out on Switch so people will joke about the how terrible the graphics look once blown up to double their original size. You must see through this international conspiracy! I thought it was well-known enough for fans to get the joke XD he must not have gotten to season 2 yet Could be it. I'm looking forward to future seasons, it's crazy what the author comes up with. Apparently, the last season ended at volume 15 of the light novels and there's currently 26 and still more to come! Yeah me too, almost done with season 2 myself so I’m gonna need to find something else to watch. Maybe I’ll give Yu Yu Hakusho another watch.
