My body is ready for ARMS. Hopefully we won’t have another “#FreeMelee -like movement” this time. That was pretty pathetic on both sides. I haven't forgotten that Nintendo cancelled the last Splatoon 2 tournament out of spite for the FreeMelee movement. Nor that Nintendo keep going after every Smash Bros mod that other competitive scenes want to embrace.
I was certainly not a fan of that movement, considering it was huge misrepresentation of the Splatoon community. Look what that costed them. I felt pretty embarrassed, to say the least. I take it from the press release that Nintendo put out at the time, that they definitely did it out of spite. And shame on nintendo for stopping people mod their games and distribute them for profit. Sorry did their actions not suit what you and the really nice competitive gaming world wanted?
I don't believe Nintendo ever issued a statement, but that's definitely how the wider community felt about it. The people who make these mods don't do that for profit to my knowledge. Smash bros tournaments with items are pretty boring to watch. if only i knew enough people irl who played splatoon here to enter I like it that Nintendo's getting into running tournaments, but it's a shame that online Smash is so poor. That's really highlighted now that Smash events have finally gone back offline. Hopefully the next Smash (whenever that happens) will be built with online in mind. I like splatoon & splatfests. I've never had interest in the tournaments. I can watch a Rocket League tournament match, though. Splatoon tournaments seem less relatable to me for some reason. Even the prizes are stuck in the past lol Come on they wanted to use a hacked version of the smash game in a tournament that they wanted Nintendo to acknowledge/support. And then some online haters ruined things in splatoon off the back of it. It sounds to me that you need to blame some spoilt kids with no brains and an internet connection for your woes, not a corporation that does everything it can to stay away from all the online crap. And I take it by the wider community that you mean the vocal online haters I mentioned above, that actually probably covers less than1% of the people that bought the game and therefore must be in said community. And I have had too many discussions with people about patronage and people using other people work in order to care for another one of those. I get that other people feel differently, of course that is there prerogative. awful take. nintendo was in the wrong and if you think otherwise you are apart of the problem How #FreeMelee was handled was an embarrassment. Plenty of blame to go around. Glad it died down since certain sections of the Smash community are complete man children. elaborate on "how it was handled"
By that logic, I can accuse you of being “apart of the problem” on a certain, and frankly much worse issue, involving the Smash community then? making tweets about a multi billion dollar company screwing over its fans and what some ex members of the community did are completely seperate also if you think what the ex members of the community did isnt an issue then yes, you would also be apart of the problem for defending them and their despicable actions
I wasn’t defending s***, I simply called the whole situation how I saw it, ridiculous.
And don’t spin my words pal, I was grouping you with those pieces of trash, i.e. you’re apart of the problem, via your logic.
If anything, I’d say it more people like you are the problem, if it’s anyone. how did you even connect the 2 situations? they are entirely different
I think, therefore you are the problem. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
