Acclaimed Video Game Magazine 'A Profound Waste Of Time' Is Getting A Reprint Nintendo Life

Both issues are back on Kickstarter by Share: Image: Nintendo Life There are video game magazines, and then there's A Profound Waste of Time. More of a tribute to the art of making games than anything else, this publication has run to two issues so far and has featured the likes of Toby Fox, Ashly Burch, Rami Ismail, Keita Takahashi, Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Jenny Jiao Hsia, discussing and dissecting games like , , , , and more. Created by London-based graphic designer , APWOT has leveraged Kickstarter to secure its funding, with issue one raising and issue two . Now, due to the popular demand, both issues are getting a reprint – also via – and with 16 days of funding left on the clock, the campaign has already raised an impressive £89,590 (at the time of writing). Whistler was nice enough to send us copies of both issues, and it seems almost unfair to call this a 'magazine'. It's more akin to a coffee-table book, boasting gorgeous design, high production values and some wonderfully insightful features. The fact that it's the developers talking here gives the whole project a refreshingly open and candid vibe, and the design work is fantastic. Oh, and it smells really nice, too. If you like what you see, then be sure to lay some cash down and support the reprint, which will, of course, support the entire project moving forward. Rumours that he turned down a role in The Hobbit to work on Nintendo Life are, to the best of our knowledge, completely and utterly unfounded. Comments ) I'll have to pick it up, looks like quite a cool book to read before bed, or during a midday coffee. Sounds like a waste of time if you ask me Heh. But wouldn't be A profund waste of time to read it For a moment, I thought that a magazine company said it would be a profound waste of time to reprint their magazine. Very pretty. Might go for standard but the mark-up on special is crazy for only getting worthless wallpapers and a different cover. Never backed anything on Kickstarter before, but this looked too cool to pass up. I backed issue 2 and it’s wonderful. Missed out on the first though and have backed the Kickstarter to make amends! Yes the special editions are expensive, but they’re also really lovely and I’m happy to pay the premium. I would love to see a reprint of the original Mean Machines — and with only 24 issues, I don't think it'd be that unfeasible I have and really enjoyed both of these. What I REALLY want is a nice print of that Shovel Knight cover art. Last I checked, the artist wasn’t selling one. Anyways, very good magazine. I highly recommend both! Heheh… More like… to pointlessly cover this magazine in herbs would… be a waste of thyme! Hah! Booyah! Kablamo! Bazzam! I have both and they are made of super high quality materials. Love how quality the whole presentation is. Some of the articles are just ok though. Definitely leans towards the indy game scene. Cool! But pretty pricey.
