He was persistent in asking for a second call. This did not sit well with Spiranac, who is known for expressing her opinions, and, as always, she was vocal about the issue. Talking about the incident, Spiranac had , “I used to be a big Bryson fan. But in the last few weeks, it’s been really hard to be a Bryson fan. He’s crossed that line from being different to being a d**k. The way he acted to that rules official was so uncalled for. Like the only times I’ve been cut by a rope, ‘Oh, there’s a rope in my face.’ He truly acted as if he was severely injured. There was a second that he couldn’t carry on.” Paige was not alone in her criticism of Bryson’s fall. Users on Twitter slammed the pro golfer for being “so deeply hurt” by a rope.
