Random: Stella McCartney Is Making $1800 'Space Invaders' Knitwear, For Some Reason Nintendo Life

It's the crossover we all wanted, right? by Share: Image: Stella McCartney We've seen some pretty amazing crossovers between the world of fashion and video games over the years, but one we didn't know we needed was a range of women's clothing based on Taito's . is currently hawking a bunch of knitwear items emblazoned with the iconic aliens. Prices start at ¥94,600 ($820) for a skirt, all the way up to a whopping ¥205,700 (around $1800) for a dress. That's quite a lot of money to make a statement about how much you love Space Invaders, but each to their own, right? Image: Stella McCartney Thanks to for the tip! Rumours that he turned down a role in The Hobbit to work on Nintendo Life are, to the best of our knowledge, completely and utterly unfounded. Where is a "cease and desist" order when ya need one. If I had to choose between this, Gucci, and Supreme, I'd choose the Space Invaders merch. I'd cry though. Pretty nauseating against the backdrop of the cost of living escalating. For me, I don't seen any difference between these and those expensive character statues you can get. For example:
So my shock and horror kind of depend on what these are made of and whether they were machine knit or made by hand. As a knitter, I know that people who don't knit chronically underestimate the time, focus and money it takes to knit a sweater, especially if you're doing colorwork like this. Realistically, if you were to commission that dress from a master knitter and have it made from natural fibers (as opposed to plain old acrylic yarn), a fair price would be at least several hundred dollars and most likely closer to $1000. If these are handknit, this is a staggering amount of work. It's not like the "ugly Christmas sweaters" you see online, which are made from acrylic yarn, have the faux colorwork printed on instead of knit into the sweater, and are made in industrial quantities on computerized knitting machines. That dress is dozens of hours of painstaking labor IF these are handknit. However, I can't see the product itself, so they just might be overpriced trash with a designer name attached to it. "Look, everyone! I'm a gamer too!" About the same price I paid for Space Invaders: Invincible Collection… I dont know who this is. Paul McCartney’s daughter. Famous designer, not that I follow that whole scene, I just know stuff about McCartney/The Beatles. "to each their own" according to their needs Weird how everybody is down paying that price for graded games, action figures and collectibles. But as soon as it's "fashion" or "art" everybody seems anti. Including the headline of the news itself. And where are they made? Plus, I'm sure most of our grandmothers can knit us better looking sweaters than that. I wish I could afford to be down with that! And Nintendo life is making an article for some reason ? The problem is that these high end designer items aren’t usually made for the people who are actually invested in the properties. Most people who would truly appreciate it are priced out by an asinine degree. So it ends up appropriating their culture for the sake of rich people’s momentary fashion sense. This is what creates resentment from fans to “outsiders” instead of a more inclusive space. "they just might be overpriced trash with a designer name attached to it." Bingo. Oh neat something for the obnoxious Jake Paul type to wear. Boy, rich people really are out of touch with reality arent they. Live in their own little world of everything being handed to them and over pricing everything made in a sweat shot. Game sells stuff like this at Christmas for £20-£30 a go. Don't think it says Stella McCartney on it, but you can get them in various styles featuring Mario, Pac-Man, Star Wars etc which are otherwise just as loud and hideous, with enough money left from the same budget to buy one of each current gen consoles and a few games. Now that's a good Christmas! I can't even imagine having enough money to frivolously spend it on cheap looking clothing like this Yeah. Because USD$700 is as expensive as USD$1800. I'll try to buy 6 Switch consoles using only USD$700. It's the same, after all. Joking aside, while I'm not a figure collector myself, I can understand the price of a limited edition figure. They aren't common articles with something painted or knitted into them, and are usually painted by hand. This reminded me to buy tickets to his new tour today... for a fraction of the price of any of these.
I dunno. When I look at something priced £600 or £1800 for these sort of items, I see both as expensive. I may love Space Invaders...
But this is ridiculous. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
