Pokémon Sword & Shield's Art Director Announces New Game Studio Nintendo Life

Called 'All Possible Futures' by Share: Image: The Pokémon Company Pokémon artist James Turner — art director for and designer of fan favourites such as Gigantamax Gengar, Shadow Lugia (from ), and Sinistea/Polteageist — has announced that he's left Game Freak and is opening up a brand new game studio. Turner has already proved his hand at creating games, directing the 3DS rhythm-based platformer back in 2012, and now he and developer (who was behind cute action RPG ) are joining forces to form All Possible Futures. And, in Turner-style, there's some adorable accompanying art to promote the studio, along with a tease of a game announcement. and I have formed a new game studio called All Possible Futures -

First Game!
Our first title will be revealed *very soon* - with an awesome trailer.

Excited for everyone to see what we’ve got cooking - James Turner (@JamesTurner_42) Could we be getting a trailer for this over the next week? We'll have to wait and see, but we're looking forward to seeing what Turner and Onebitbeyond have come up with, and we wish them all the best with their new studio! You can follow All Possible Futures on Twitter at . What would you like to see from the studio? Let us know down below! Wait, wut ?! That was funny right up until after the waifu bit. Thanks though. Turner's designed some awesome Pokemon so interested to see what he comes up with next. Glad he’s gone at gamefreak, imo some of his Pokémon designs are pretty bad for ex. the Vanilluxe line and as art director for SWSH approving the hideous design of Inteleon, this is for the best. I think he's better off without touching Pokemon. His Mon designs were horrible/meh. The art direction for SnS was my least favorite in the franchise. Probably the reason why he wasn't involved in PLA. I'm excited for his own stuff though! Sad to see him go, I personally really love his Pokemon designs! Very intrigued to see what his new project will be Great stuff! I hope he's still a part of Pokemon because he's contributed to some of the best designs in the series (Golurk/Obstagoon my beloved) but the fact that he and his friends are making their own studio gives me hope that we can get more games like HarmoKnight again! Hope it works out well for him! I feel u. He finalized a lot of designs for SnS. I miss Ken Sugimori and Atsuko Nishida but they're aging, plus I wonder why they hired a westerner to AD when there were so many seasoned Japanese ADs since Ruby Sapphire. Hironobu Yoshida, Takao Unno, or Muneo Saitō for ex. done some lovely pokemon, and harmoknight was one of the best 3DS eshop games--good luck to him I don't get the hate againt Inteleon, imo it looks cool Didn't he make Wooloo?
That is one of the greatest Pokémon designs many people think it’s an ugly abomination including me, I guess we don’t share the same opinion. Like I always say: wishing him the very best in his future endeavours. I loved Gigantamax Gengar and Shadow Lugia so I look forward to see what he has in store. Intelion is my personal favourite gen 8 Pokèmon. Love its Gigantamax form too. No he's not credited for Wooloo. Likely Atsuko Nishida or Shigeru Ohmori. Turner did approve the design since he was the AD. So, who have designed the Pokemons and the peoples for Pokemon Scarlet / Violet ? Swords of ditto creator? I'm interested... I’ve always found Turner a really intriguing artist, even if his aesthetic vision for the world of Pokémon rarely lined up with my own. Interested to see what he’ll put out with this studio where he’ll have free reign to build entirely new worlds rather than slot into existing ones. Sad to see him leave Game Freak. He designed a number of Pokemon I really loved. Golurk, Trevenant, Centiskorch, Polteageist and Mandibuzz in particular. The ghost type will be worse off for it! I guess it's still possible that he designed Pokemon for Scarlet/Violet, presuming this new studio is a somewhat recent development. Why is Vaillite seen as the gold standard of bad pokemon designs? Its a cutie I mean, if you were making a game based on Britain and you had talented, British artist (who has worked on Pokémon games since 2003) who would you pick for AD? Gen 8 had some of the best designs in the franchise so I never understood the hate he got. Anyway, with Turner leaving and Masuda moving away from GF to TPC there seem to be some major changes happening within GameFreak. The impact will probably be noticable in whatever comes next after Violet/Scarlet. Well if that's all they had then ya. Why didn't they have an American for Black White or Hawaiian for Sun Moon? We have yet to know who art directs Scarlet Violet, so let's hope they're from Spain. Might've just been convenient for the Japanese to have him on which is understandable. I miss Turner doing spin-offs like Trozei, that style is unique which we saw again in HarmoKnight. I'm guessing it's because they didn't happen to have anyone native to those countries (that was also an artist) working for them. Turner wasn't hired specificaly for SW/SH, he had worked there since B/W. Granted, most of this is pure guess work on my end. Because it's an ice cream cone. yes, and?
