I remember I was quite interested before it released, but I forgot about it lol
Is it worth it? The fact you forgot about it and only now remember it exists is all that you really need to know. It's not good or bad enough to be memorable, it's just there. Why is there no standard release of the first game LRG? What if we don't like the second game? It's good. It's certainly a Zelda clone, but a really well done one. If you liked Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess in particular, you'll like this It's also incredibly impressive in scope for a dev team of like 7 people Yesss!! Every time the opportunity presented itself, I tweeted at Super Rare to give it a release, but Limited Run will do. Why of all things are they advertising the map on the inside of the box? Are they so bereft of selling points they have to advertise that? - they’ve already released Oceanhorn a couple years ago. Doesn't hurt to re-release it again. The first game was far superior. I found this one clunky and boring I played the first game and thought it was a commendable first effort, but I was hoping a sequel would become more its own thing than a Zelda clone. Then I started playing part 2 and quit after about 3 hours because it was even more derivative than the first game. Why would they copy things so blatantly and then add the BotW outfit to top it all off? It didn’t inspire me to keep playing. This studio should really start putting their obvious talent to better use. Switch exclusive since 2020? Why did the previous game release on all major consoles then? Wondered why I couldn't play the sequel when it was a big deal Games like this happen when you have programming skills and financial resources but no creativity nor imagination. For anyone on the fence about buying this... please allow me to try and steer you away from your prospective purchase!!! As others have said, this game is the very epitome of 'average' and is entirely forgettable - devoid of any creativity or excitement. I can appreciate it is the result of efforts made by a relatively small team, but nonetheless I would not recommend you spend your money on this... especially when the Switch is so ripe right now with great games! If anyone is looking for a BOTW-clone, I'd highly recommend 'Immortals Fenyx Rising'. Don't be put off by this being a Ubisoft property, it genuinely is quite a refreshing experience that borrows heavily from BOTW - in all the best ways. For more traditional 'top-down' Zelda style games...:Deaths Door, released last year usually on saleTunic, previous XBox exclusive got great reviews and is released next week on Switch (27th) Other great games recently released inc. Xenoblade 3, Return to Monkey Island, Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion.... please don't make my mistake and waste your money on Oceanhorn 2! Hahah ok, fair enough. Why through Limited Run? The delivery is normally the same price as the actual game, and then you have to wait for a year before its actually sent. That defeats the purpose of "limited run games" if they turn around and re-print them.
LRG previously did the physical run of the first Oceanhorn game, and they've helped FDG Entertainment with the physical runs of Blossom Tale and Monster Boy too.
So, it only follows logically, it's like how LRG help publish a ton of Wayforward games. They are also doing a dual pack:
Plays like Zelda and looks like a cheap Sora knock-off I didn't like the first one and only played due to the limited number of games for Switch at that time. Now I read here that the first part is superior to the second one... Good, no need to spend any money on this physical release, then!
Who said the first part isn’t sold separately? The game was distributed but not published by LRG, and a second run is possible. When LRG released Shantae 1 and the cardboard box for it, they also reprinted „½ Genie Hero“, to give fans a chance for a complete Shantae set.
Actually it would be nice, if they sell both games and the cardboard box separately, for those of us who already have part 1. LRG only distributed Oceanhorn, but it was self-published by FDG. It never was one of the numbered „limited“ releases. These distributed games are sometimes reprinted. For example Mutant Mudds Collection, which is sold by LRG at the moment. The first run was sold years ago via Super Rare Games. But does it still... You know.... Suck? Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
