These new versions are both supported by the Switch Online functionality and four-player multiplayer. and Mario Party 2, now available on for + Expansion Pack members! - Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) Here's the PR about both:

Mario Party

Mario Party launched for the Nintendo 64 system in 1999 and was the original party-starter for the series! In this classic four-player party game, you’ll join Mario and friends across nine action-packed Adventure Boards and 56 minigames in colorful multiplayer* (or solo!) competition.

Mario Party 2

Yes, we know most places got it in 2000

Comments ) A fun fact that I just learned while looking into these games in preparation for their arrival: this is the first time Mario Party 1 has ever been re-released! A bit mad considering the series' pedigree, but I suppose those palm-burning minigames probably had something to do with it. Super excited to play these once I renew my subscription though (especially when this comes out 3 days before my actual birthday XD)! Ahhhh, the game that gave us all horrible blisters on our fingers. Now the sheltered young kiddos of the zoomer generation can discover what a blister is. I JUST NEED 3 NOW! GIMME 3! Can't wait for me and my little sister to tear up our palms once again, on the Switch this time. Tug-o-War and Pedal Power still haunt my nightmares. Edit: Can confirm like others have said, they actually put a warning every time you start Mario Party 1. Thoughtful and amusing at the same time, it prepares you for the pain that awaits within. Ha, they actually have a notification about the stick spinning when you turn on Mario Party 1. Mario Party! Well, that's like 20 games in one! None of them are good, fun, fair, or interesting....but there's a lot! RIP to everyone's joycons. sheltered? They literally have any content and information available to them at any time. my hands after this are gonna kill me
They put a warning for the first one So did they remove the games that caused law suits?? Roses are red
Violets are blue
Mario Party 1 and 2 yep, it's the first time it's been re-released, the same will be true for Mario Party 3 when that comes out (obviously the Pokémon Stadiums and GoldenEye as well, but I guess those go without saying). Only Mario Party 2, Mario Party Advance and Mario Party DS are the only MPs that have had re-releases until today. As for the warnings in Mario Party 1, I suppose the pain can be mitigated a bit with the control stick caps that all controllers have nowadays, just make sure you moderate your spins. If I were to guess I would say that is the point he is making that they live vicariously rather than through experience.
But as a young, hip and all round cool dude I can’t be sure what that square is getting at. Word! I like how nintendo learned they can get away with the blister minigame by putting a lil warning so they can't be held liable lol. Plus diff times like controls sticks no longer being hard plastic This, so far, has gone in order of the reveal in the Nintendo Direct. That means either Goldeneye comes out after the remaining games or is getting some kind of special release date different from normal schedule It’s kind of sad that I will not be playing Pokemon Stadium this christmas, as I did in 2000’s, because Nintendo think it is reasonable to release all Mario Partys in a roll before it on nso doesn't look anything like Pokemon Stadium. I wonder if Nintendo thought very long and hard on whether they even wanted to bring this game back. Like the control stick issues were enough of one that you could get sent gloves from Nintendo, and that was a drop in the bucket compared to joycon complaints so I can't imagine there wasn't some serious discussions on whether this is worth it. I mean, I'm glad to have it back, even though I did get hurt from those minigames once. Even though its possibly still a risk, its probably also stupid and bad to sell a subscription service based on your games and then refuse to include a notable game like this, and far less people using this are stupid kids like they were when it came out and you can't even get those N64 controllers if you want so...eh. Which is why they released it with its better sequel, to distract gamers with N64 Controllers from playing the first and filing new lawsuits. and utterly DEMOLISHED analog sticks. I was really hoping 1080 would have come out first because it feels appropriate for this time of year, but I'll take whatever I can get. If only I still had friends into games near me though I just realized if you have the Japanese version of the N64 app you can experience the OH MY GOD version of the original Mario Party. Either way nice that these are finally available! no thanks, I have to babysit my joycons "I will."
-Al Gore Yeah, one title here, two titles there, sorry, life is too short, I choose emulation and all titles right here, right now. We can play these online, right? Please tell me I don't have to go out and entice actual, real, people round to enjoy the party. Love me some N64, but I never played the Marty Party games on there, so I'm looking forward to trying them out when I get home tonight! Come on Mario, let’s go party! Move aside everyone, the best Mario Party ( 2 ) coming through. Bold move.. Now I wonder how many drift issues will be reported. Neat. No one to play with so I doubt I'll touch these but it's pretty cool we're getting them nonetheless. , Six years in still no issues with any of my Joycon's, even my original grey launch day pair. My childhood games finally return!
Will definitely be using my NSO N64 controller for this one during game nights with friends... Although could be lethal for my palms
I did quickly boot up MP2 this morning and maybe my eyes are deceiving me but it seems to run faster, like it's at 1.5x speed xD
Either that or I got so used to Mario Party Superstars playing at such a slower pace, with lethargic text boxes etc probably because it's the North American version, wich was faster than the PAL one. Ahh yes! You're right! Totally forgot I had the N64 app set to NA region only.
I was thinking to myself "this runs way better than the WiiU virtual console version I own too". pretty sure he was joking Oh nice that this has arrived already, thought this would be later in the month Same here, although I worry Bayonetta 3 might give mine some grief… My N64 NSO controllers are so "rare" I refuse to play this game and wear the thumb sticks down to piles of plastic dust. These two games are going to keep the wife and I pretty busy... well that, or divorce court. That was a joke by the way. I wish they would put mario rpg on the game list for snes , They will be fine, as I said, I always keep mine in a drawer when not in use, as I feel dust build up is big factor with the drift issues. When these were announced, several people in the comment section told me "obviously they have online, no need to put in the trailer". Seems I was right, couldn't see any option for online I don't understand can you not buy Nintendo n64,snes and nes games as it seems you need Nintendo online expansion, but if you already own the dlc such as happy home already then there is no reason to have the expansion pass. I would like to buy the n64 games separately. I never did have an N64, but these comments are reminding me of joystick waggling along to Daley Thompson's Decathalon back in the 8-bit mirco days. I do have NSO, so will be trying these games out. I wonder if Nintendo will ever add these three masterpieces: DK64, Smash and Cruis'n USA Cruis'n USA was NEVER good. The recent Raw Thrills game is fun, but that's it. Those games are terrible. Given Nintendo's storied history of making online play as obtuse as possible even when it is included this is pretty on-brand for them. Ah well, at least they have decent single player modes. It always baffled me why the only Mario Party they re-released before this was the one with the least solo play incentives. cruisin' USA was great back in the day! Still fun to play I've in a while, even if it's just nostalgia at this point. Their poor repair department or wherever the sick little joy cons go when they drift off.. Yet more shovelware on Switch Premium rip off service. I was really enjoying Mini game island, but, either N64 sticks were better suited, or I was just better with my little hands in 1999, but I CANNOT pass any levels that involve rotating the joy stick fast!!!!! Think I have done all I can on that one Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
