Arcade1Up Gets Ambitious With Marvel Pinball And Big Buck Hunter Home Machines

Arcade1Up has announced a new lineup of arcade cabinets, including Big Buck Hunter, Marvel vs. Street Fighter, and a new Marvel Pinball machine. via IGN Arcade Cabinet Arcade1Up has announced an ambitious new lineup of arcade cabinets, including Big Buck Hunter, Marvel vs. Street Fighter, and a new 10-in-1 Marvel Pinball machine. In every country but Japan, arcades are pretty much dead. The age of going into a building with a pocket full of quarters and slotting them in a machine one at a time to get your gaming fix has gone the way of the dodo. Game makers have much more efficient ways of extracting money from customers these days, and let’s be honest, we’d rather not leave our homes if we don’t have to. But nostalgia is a powerful thing. It’s making us buy tiny versions of consoles we might still already own just to play some classic titles that we’d all but forgotten about. And some of us haven’t forgotten what it was like to stand beside an actual arcade cabinet with real joysticks and bizarrely huge buttons. Some of us want that feeling back, and for those people, is here for you. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Arcade1Up has a library of 3/4-scale arcade cabinets already available filled with classic games like Rampage, , Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II Turbo, Galaga, Frogger, NBA Jam, and more. They all have authentic buttons and joysticks, a 17-inch LCD screen, and no quarters required. Instead of a quarter slot, each cabinet is fitted with controls that allow you to select between 2-4 different games that are included with each cabinet. As part of IGN's Summer of Gaming, Arcade1Up just announced 5 new cabinets for arcade aficionados to salivate over. Each of them will be available for pre-order soon and will arrive before the end of 2020. First we have the Ms. Pac-Man cabinet, which will contain way-back arcade hits like Pac-Man, Galaxian, Pac-Mania, and Pac-Man Plus. Next we have the X-Men vs. Street Fighter Cabinet and the Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Superheroes Cabinet. There's a bit of crossover between the games included with these cabinets, with X-Men vs. Street Fighter getting X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Superheroes, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, while the Marvel vs. Capcom cabinet gets Marvel Super-Heroes: War of the Gems, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Superheroes, and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. The Big Buck Hunter Cabinet includes Big Buck Hunter Pro, Big Buck Hunter Pro Open Season, Big Buck Safari, and Big Buck Safari Outback, as well as authentic light guns for shooting digital game. And finally, the Marvel Pinball Cabinet has a collection of 10 digital pinball games presented in a 24-inch recessed screen. The cabinet also has an accelerometer and solenoid-enabled buttons to feel like a real pinball machine. Pricing was not announced, but previous cabinets offered from Arcade1Up can go for around $500.
