Sid Meier's Civilization 6 (or Civ 6) is the latest entry in the beloved grand strategy series. It's a turn-based 4x (explore, expand, exploit, exterminate) where players compete for world domination by accomplishing any of several different pursuits. Victory can be achieved through Science, Diplomacy, Culture, Religion, or Domination, and each civilization has complete control over which type of victory they pursue. Players start with little more than a couple of villagers and a farm and must grow, turn-by-turn, into a dominant society through research, conquest, and forming (and breaking) alliances with other players. It's part board game, part RTS, and part model UN. If sociology interests you and Risk was your favorite game growing up, Civ 6 is probably right up your alley. Civ can be played both single players against A.I. or with up to 20 other players. There are 6 different map sizes and dozens of map scripts to fully customize each game so that no playthrough is the same as the last. One of the coolest features is the asynchronous multiplayer mode that allows players to check in on the game in their free time and take their turn. It's a great way to play with friends throughout the day when you can't necessarily all play at the same time. Grab Civ 6 on the Epic Game Store before it expires on Thursday. Crucible Steam
Crucible is the first game developed by Amazon Studios and it's incredibly unique. This PvP free-to-play game has elements of hero shooters like Overwatch mixed with MOBA-style games like League of Legends and traditional 3rd person shooters too like Gears of War. Crucible offers 3 competitive game modes where teams compete to collect resources, level up, and battle it out using guns and special abilities. All of Crucible's characters are incredibly original with unique, fun ability kits. There's already a battle pass for the "pre-season" which is free to all players that install the game before June 1st. As far as F2P games go, we're impressed to see that Crucible does not have any pay-to-win options. All of the microtransactions are cosmetic and extremely high quality. The skins and character animations on par with Overwatch at launch, but the gameplay does feel a lot like an early access title right now. Via: youtube.com (Corilo) With any luck, Crucible will grow into a mainstream success that can stand up with the big boys like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Overwatch. Check it out for free on Steam.
