Mario Kart Tour s Cooking Tour Lets Players Drive As Chef Mario

The Cooking Tour is now available in Mario Kart Tour, allowing players to take a nostalgic romp around Choco Island. Via: Nintendo Wire Chef Mario may not be many fans’ number one pick for the next character, but who else were they going to pick for this latest, most delicious-sounding tour? If there’s one thing the mobile format lends itself to, it’s small-and-frequent content drops. After all, it’s one thing to get gamers to download your game, but player retention? That’s a different business entirely. PC and console titles are also big on this concept, with the likes of and holding regular events and tournaments. Mobile games are even more reliant on the idea, though, because it’s a great way to keep those microtransactions flowing. Mario Kart Tour has a perfect format for this with its tour system, and the latest one has just landed. Not only that, but – as always — another racer has been added to the fray. Keeping with the theme, Nintendo has plundered Mario’s back catalog of professions and introduced Chef Mario to the game. This isn’t exactly a major new character (unlike Monty Mole, who had never been playable before in history), but there are a couple of upsides for those of us who aren’t Mario diehards. First of all, his kart is the most brilliantly ridiculous we’ve seen in some time. Second, his trick animations are absolutley glorious.
