Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, an open-world game centered around the famous fictional detective, is currently in development. via Gematsu.com If you're a fan of open-world detective games, then you're in luck. Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, an open-world game centered around the famous fictional detective, is currently in development and expected to come out before the end of 2021. Chapter One comes from long time developer, Frogwares, the company behind Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, and several other titles centered around the detective. Now, the developer looks to tackle the open world genre for the first time, and Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One has the promise to be its most exciting game yet. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY via Gematsu.com The game will center around a young Sherlocke long before he establishes his legend. The character is described as a cavalier with youthful arrogance, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone familiar with the source material. Chapter One will take place on a colorful island in the Mediterranean, where the game's open-world will provide a vast array of clues and hints that will help you progress through the story. Based on the screenshots, the game's map looks to be filled with lush environments and incredible architecture covered by plants and beautiful Mediterranean flowers. Sherlock's legendary partner, John Watson, will play a role in the game as well. It sounds as if we will get a glimpse into the early stages of the duo's relationship, where their unique friendship begins to take form. Chapter One will apparently drop the, "h", from John's name, introducing a version of the character that will have its own mystery to unravel. It also sounds as if Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will take a fresh approach to combat, as it promises to utilize Sherlock's observation skills to identify enemy weakness and exploit them. There will even be a L.A. Noire-inspired interview system, where players will have to decide whether or not they can trust the words of the game's various characters. We're cautiously optimistic about the prospect of an open world Sherlock Holmes game, but if done correctly, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One has a chance to be great. Expect to see the game some time in 2021 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Source:
