Pokémon GO How To Find An Ice-Type

Pokémon GO's Johto research requires trainers to catch an ice-type Pokémon, which can be easier said than done for some people. via GameSkinny Pokémon GO's Johto research requires trainers to catch an ice-type Pokémon, which can be easier said than done for some people. is running a series of throwback events throughout the month of May. Week one was dedicated to the Kanto region, and week two has moved us swiftly on to Johto. As was the case with the Kanto research, the Johto event has been split into nine different stages. Trainers must complete each stage before unlocking the next one. There are a couple of driving forces behind these throwback events. The main one is that each and every task can be performed from home. The other is that each stage relates back to the region itself. None of the challenges are just random which makes some of them very easy to complete, while others are a little trickier. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY The first task, for example, is to catch a fire, grass, and water-type to reflect the choice trainers have at the start of every game. Chances are that will be the first task in all of these throwback events. Considering the high spawn rate of Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile right now, that task is easy to complete. Catching an ice-type during stage seven, on the other hand, maybe not so much. via GameSkinny Even though Pokémon from other regions continue to spawn during the Johto event, the bulk of Pokémon appearing will be Johto-based. That poses a problem since ice-types are few and far between in Johto. Delibird don't appear to be spawning more frequently, so the best chance trainers will have of catching an ice-type during the Johto event is by finding a Swinub. Trainers can increase their chance of attracting a Swinub by placing a Glacial Lure Module which, as its name suggests, lures ice-type Pokémon to a trainer's location. Trainers who don't have the luxury of a Pokéstop on which to place a Glacial Lure Module might want to fire up Pokémon GO once the sun has gone down. Sneasel is Johto's other ice-type and since it is also a dark-type, it is more likely to appear at night.
