In the spirit of gaming, one player has recreated musician Rick Astley and his performance of "Never Gonna Give You Up." Animal Crossing; New Horizons players are all over the place with their creations. From a recreation of Harvest Moon to an , the creations vary widely but are all masterpieces. And now, in the spirit of gaming, one player has recreated musician Rick Astley and his performance of "Never Gonna Give You Up." According to , Twitter user and GAME Telford's @Withmailnarwood recreated the infamous Rick Roll meme in-game. Indeed, the meme that has been used against gamers so many times has finally been replicated in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Take a look at the K.K. Slider replacement for yourself below. The user posted two videos; one shows the replicated video itself while the other shows a side-by-side comparison. As can be seen above, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons rendition of "Never Gonna Give You Up" is pretty faithful to the original music video from 1987. The villager can't really mouth the lyrics, but he does sport identical outfits, including the one with the trench coat, and has strikingly similar hair. Further, the villager dances in place throughout the video; similar to how Rick Astley waltzes around several locations in the "Never Gonna Give You Up" video. Speaking of which, the video also displays very similar-looking locations, with wallpapers meant to replicate fencing and wine cellar-type areas. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons video also has a dancing, blonde-haired girl, identical to her real-life counterpart, as well as a villager setting a table. While only a minute in length, the recreated video is endearing, impressive, and haunting at the same time. The way the villagers dance is adorable, though the Rick Roll meme doesn't really bring back fond memories. At this point, it's looked back on as a joke, though at one time, it was a point of major frustration for avid gamers and YouTube frequenters. Yet, respect goes to the New Horizons player for dedication and impressive design. Now, who knows what other popular music videos might be replicated through Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
