Persona 5 10 Unanswered Questions We Still Have About Skull

Skull is one of Persona 5's most interesting characters. But there's still plenty about him we don't know. left us with a lot of unanswered questions, and Persona 5: Royal has mostly cleaned that up, but not completely. Of course, there are still tons of questions related to what Morgana actually is, or what sexuality Yusuke has, or even why Akechi loves pancakes so much. But, the character we want to focus on now is none other than the right-hand man of the Phantom Thieves, Ryuji Sakamoto. This loud-mouthed delinquent is more than he seems, , and we want to talk about some of the things we wish were answered about him by the end of the game. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Which Girl Does He Like Best Ann or Makoto

So, throughout all the Persona games, there have been main cast characters who obviously have feelings for girls you as the Playable Character can romance. The most well-known example is the romantic feelings Kanji obviously has for Naoto in Persona 4. After, frankly, it's pretty obvious she has feelings for him as well as the MC. Well in Persona 5 Ann Takamaki is someone who Joker and Ryuji obviously feel attraction for. But, in Royal, it's hinted at more and more that Ryuji is into Makoto as well. So which is it? How can we wingman for our main guy if even we can't tell who he's pining after?

Does He Ever Great Better Treatment From The Rest Of The Gang

Ryuji "Skull" Sakamoto is a lot of things. He's arrogant, loud, obnoxious,, and also a perv. But, he's also an extremely thoughtful, loyal, dedicated, and righteous person! That much was clear to us by the time we finished the Kamoshida case, so why don't the rest of the cast treat him for what he is? All throughout the game Ryuji takes flak from Ann, Futaba, and especially Morgana but its over-the-top or undeserved most of the time. And no better scene exemplifies this then his fake-out after Shido's palace. You know exactly what scene we're talking about if you made it that far into the game.

What Would He Look Like With Non-Dyed Hair

There's a real trend in Japanese Media with rebels or delinquents and their need to dye their hair blond. It's almost as if the characters themselves are shouting to the world "Look at me! I'm rebelling against society by dying my hair the exact same color every other delinquent character does!". We like how it looks, but come on. The coach and Mad Dog from Haikyuu do it, Kanji from Persona 4 does it, and Ryuji does it. But what would did he look like with normal hair?

Does He Act Different Around His Mom

Again, another trope of the series is that the characters with the most aggressive personalities usually have quite an adorable home life. And again, Kanji Tatsumi, the rebel character from Persona 4 is the perfect example. Kanji acts like a real badass outside of his home, but as soon as he walks through the front door he's respectful to his mother, helps her around the house, and sews things for her. Ryuji seems to be similar, or at the very least is mom is much too kind to him. There are multiple dialog options throughout his Social Link that hint that he might act differently around his sickly sweet mother, but we never get to see it. Is there a respectful and reserved Ryuji that we'll just never get a glimpse of?

Is There Any Sport He s Not Into

Ryuji is the "sports guy" of the group. Haru is into gardening, Makoto is a kendo practitioner, Ann is a model, Yusuke is an artist, Futaba's a hacker, Akechi's a detective, and Ryuji is a gym/sports buff. The guy was the star of his track team before things went south with Kamoshida and it appears he holds a deep respect for just about every sport out there. Any time anything physical comes up in conversation, Ryuji has an opinion on it. Our question is, is there any sport he's not a big fan of? Our guess would be volleyball since their coach did ruin his life and all.

Did He Ever Learn To Stop Yelling

Alright here's the thing, and it's the biggest problem with Sakamoto. Ryuji is a loudmouth! He screams obscenities, speaks his mind much too often, and frequently talks about being a Phantom Theif at a high decibel. We can't count the number of memes that came out about the kid once the game released and how he would yell "LET US GO, FELLOW PHANTOM THIEVES" anytime he could. So, now that the game is over and everyone has grown, does Ryuji yell less? We never got to see him past the end of the story with no more Persona issues to worry about, so we're wondering if the guy finally realized he can talk quieter to people directly in front of him.

Was He Designed To Be Similar To Kanji Or Did It Just Work Out That Way

So we've brought up Kanji multiple times throughout this article and there's a reason for that, he and Ryuji are insanely similar. Both of them are blond-haired sweethearts who are misunderstood by society and are treated like criminals everywhere they go. Both of them have soft sides, both of them specialize in physical skills and electric abilities, and both of them are "buff". Oh, and they also both have the "skull" theme going on. So what's the deal? Did the Persona dev team at Atlus mean to design basically the same character twice, or did it just accidentally work out that way? Was it the same guy who designed both characters? We just want to know if they're meant to be twins or not.

Why Does He Have Such A Potty Mouth

There's a long-running joke in the video game and anime community about characters saying the "F" word. You know the one. We're good boys and girls so we're not going to say it, but Ryuji says it a few times throughout the entirety of Persona 5 and even more in Royal. This is rare for a Persona game, they let characters cuss, but the "F" word is usually off-limits as there are fan theories it can affect the game's rating. So, does Ryuji ever stop saying "Eff" and start cussing for real after the events of Persona 5? And why did fans start a petition way back when in order to get him to say it more?

Why Doesn t He Fly Around On Captain Kidd

We've seen that characters can physically interact with their Persona. In Persona 3 Shinjiro's Persona accidentally kills a random woman, who ends up being important later on. In Persona 4, it was a bit vaguer and was stated by the cast that it was "easier" to summon their Persona inside the TV-world, but all signs point to the fact that they could use them outside if they wanted. Then, in Persona 5, we see one of the main cast Makoto riding on top of her Persona constantly as transportation. So our question is, why didn't Ryuji do that? Captain Kidd has a big sentient skip he rides on, Sun Wukong has a cloud, and William even rides on top of a luxury yacht! Hop on up there Ryuji!

Where Does He Get His Meme-Tastic T-Shirts

And finally, we just need to know, where does Ryuji get his cringe-worthy t-shirts? Don't get us wrong, color-wise, they're rad. But the text on them just feels like an adult was trying to be "hip" and "cool" with the current generation. His most-worn t-shirt just says "ZOMG" on it, a phrase never uttered by anyone past 2010, and the shirt he wears on the field trip just says "No Mo Rulez" which feels like graffiti we'd see on the side of a building in a D-quality video game. It's just an odd fashion sense is all,, and we're wondering if the kid ever starts wearing normal clothes at any point in his life.
