Doom Eternal Bosses Ranked From Easiest To Most Difficult

Doom Eternal can be a tough game at times, and its bosses are a big reason why. Here's how they all rank in terms of difficulty. Puzzles and first-person shooters sound leagues apart from each other, but has shown the industry that puzzle shooters can exist. Managing various demon types, exploiting their weaknesses, and navigating the map all contribute to this violent game of demon Chess. Key players in this sandbox are bosses and minibosses, high-priority targets that The Slayer must focus his attention on. Unlike most enemies, these units have obscene amounts of health, deal tremendous damage, and have a few mechanics tied to them. No matter the difficulty, these enemies will prove to be challenging to slay. Here are all of the bosses and minibosses of Doom Eternal ranked from easiest to most difficult. This article contains spoilers for Doom Eternal. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Tyrant

While not classified as a boss in the traditional sense, Tyrants require the player's utmost attention and skill to defeat. When a Tyrant enters the battlefield, they act as a miniboss players must take down quickly or risk dying. uses a barrage of missiles and deadly attacks to kill the player if they aren't paying attention. Tyrants also have a massive health pool, requiring dozens of rockets or hundreds of bullets to take down. Strafe around these enemies to get the edge on them. Alternatively, you can use the Crucible or BFG to take them down in a pinch.

Baron Of Hell

Similar to the Tyrant, the Baron of Hell is a Super Heavy target that requires The Slayer's attention. His flaming arm blades and massive health pool make him a formidable foe in large-scale fights. These enemies behave similarly to Hell Knights, lunging across the map and forcing The Slayer to move. Keep your distance and burst this target down from a distance. He is a great example of a miniboss done right. Baron's aren't too hard to deal with once you know their attack patterns, but those who get distracted for even a second can get severely punished by this foe.

Icon Of Sin

Doom Eternal Icon Of Sin Thankfully, the Icon of Sin in Doom Eternal isn't a texture on a wall like it was in Doom 2. This boss will actually fight you and summon dozens of demons to keep the fight intense. As a final boss, the Icon of Sin falls under the difficulty of other bosses. Focusing on the Icon with the Unmaykr or BFG can make the fight dramatically easier. Don't let the waves of demons distract you from the Icon's attacks and this fight should be easy for most players.

Doom Hunter

As Doom Eternal's first real boss, the Doom Hunter is a fantastic introduction to the Super Heavy class. Featuring a barrage of rockets and a deadly chainsaw, the Doom Hunter means business when it enters the fray. Energy shields protect its cyborg body, making the Plasma Rifle a great choice to deal with the Doom Hunter. Once his shields are depleted, and take out his chassis. Finish him off with any high-damaging weapon you please. He is a great enemy to fight later in the game, and the surprise double Doom Hunter fight for his debut is memorable and a great test of your skill.

Marauder

With Doom Eternal releasing over a month ago now, most players have now gotten accustomed to the game's radically different gameplay loop. This has also resulted in many frustrations with the Marauder enemy vanishing from online discussions. This enemy is your equal. The Marauder dashes frequently, uses ranged slashes to catch you off guard, and summons a wolf if anyone damages his shield. Regardless of your view on this enemy, he is undeniably a difficult opponent to beat. After you learn how to chain falters, though, the Marauder becomes yet another pawn in Doom Eternal's intricate game of demon Chess.

Archvile

Via: Bethesda Archvile Doom Eternal is back from Doom 2 with a vengeance. Engulfing the battlefield with flame, the Archvile is easily the hardest miniboss in Doom Eternal. Archviles punish players for getting close to him, launching firey projectiles at The Slayer while erecting flaming walls to protect itself. Worse than the fire, Archviles can summon and even enrage every demon on the battlefield, making Archviles the highest priority of demons to kill. These enemies are worth using your limited Crucible charges on with how deadly they are.

Gladiator

What could be more metal than fighting demons from Hell? Well, fighting a demonic gladiator while an audience chants "rip and tear" is a start. The Gladiator is one of the toughest bosses in Doom Eternal, forcing players to dash around the battlefield and manage their ammo carefully. This demon uses a massive shield to block The Slayer's attacks while punishing with his high-damage flail. After the first phase, the Gladiator equips two flails and controls the battlefield with a reflecting shield and energy waves that force The Slayer to jump. If you haven't mastered Doom Eternal's movement at this point, prepare for a tough fight.

Khan Maykr

Khan Maykr builds off of the Gladiator fight, further punishing players for poor positioning. While she doesn't attack much on her own, the arena certainly will. Running on the floor will result in you taking massive amounts of damage in this fight. A damaging ground effect will proliferate across the arena the further you get in the fight, forcing you to stay in the air. Worse, the only fodder enemies are all on the ground, floating above the damaging ground effect. You'll have to rely on headshotting the Maykr Drones to replenish your ammunition to finish this fight. On higher difficulties or for more experienced players alike, the Khan Maykr is arguably the hardest boss in Doom Eternal.
