Persona 5 10 Unanswered Questions We Still Have About Joker
He may be the leader of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, but there's still a lot fans don't know about Persona 5's Joker. The latest addition to the roster of silent protagonists that the series has to offer, Joker, the protagonist from the latest is a character wrapped in mystery. Cool and collected one minute and grinning like a madman the next, it's often hard to tell just what's going through Joker's head. Like the juxtaposition between his school uniform outfit versus his Phantom Thieves garb, it's no wonder that the character still has players curious. With right around the corner and opportunities to further explore the character of Joker, let's take a look at 10 unanswered questions we still have about Joker. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY What Is His Real Name
One fun detail about Persona games is that players are allowed to name their character, so naturally, Joker can be named anything. As with previous protagonists, though, there is always the question of what the character's actual intended name is. Fans of the series will know that two names have maintained: Akira Kurusu, the name given in the Manga adaptation, and Ren Amamiya, the name given in the Anime adaptation. If we're following patterns it's the latter that ends up winning, but there are still fans of both. Whether you're team Ren or Team Akira, it would be up to an official announcement to find out what his name actually is. Is There A Connection To Arsene
Fans of the Persona series will know that a lot of decisions are intentional: from plot points to color usage, little things tend to have a huge impact. As such, we can't let anything go unquestioned, and players can't help but wonder if there is a specific connection that Joker has to the namesake of his Persona: Arsene. Inspired by the gentleman thief Arsene Lupin, does Joker have any special connection to LeBlanc's character? If so, players would love to know the thought process that went behind making that decision. Why Is Everyone So Wary Of Him
For all intents and purposes, the situation that Joker ends up in at the start of the story probably wouldn't actually happen. That said, players can't help but wonder why everyone starts off assuming the absolute worst about Joker. After all, no one seems interested in his side of the story, which would make things abundantly clear that he never had any ill intentions. Unfortunately, this isn't something that is likely to change - after all, how he's perceived is entirely too integral to the plot of the series. Oh well; at it ends up making for a great game. Who Is His Second Banana
In Persona 3 we had Junpei. In Persona 4 Yosuke claimed he was cool playing second banana. While it's never really been an official thing, we know that there always is a right-hand character to the protagonist, but who that character is isn't as clear in Persona 5. Ryuji seems to fit the bill since he's one of Joker's first connections, but it actually might be Morgana that gets the honor, considering they spend the most time together. Plus, Morgana represents the Magician arcana, which Yosuke and Junpei also represent. Again, this is a detail that isn't really imperative for players to know, but we certainly wouldn't be mad about knowing either. What Would His Final Persona Team Look Like
The power of the Wild Card allows Joker to use multiple Personas. Because of this, he's not really restricted in any capacity. Still, it's fun to imagine which Personas Joker would rely on the most. Would he bring along Black Frost? Ongyo-Ki? What about Trumpeter? With the entire compendium of personas to choose from, Joker certainly has a lot of options. Fans of the series would love to see Joker's curated team as insight not only to his combat style but it may also be revealing of his personality too. To take it even further, we could even compare teams to previous protagonists as well. What Was Life Like At Home
We know the story about how Joker ended up in this situation; he prevented a woman from being sexually harassed by a drunken Masayoshi Shido, but due to Shido's connections and influence, Joker ended up taking the fall. Because of this Joker is forced to uproot his life and move to Yongen-Jaya. At no point do we get any insight into his life before all this, though. Did he live with his parents? What about siblings? Where were all of his friends to support him during the incident? Not that we have anything against the new life he's made, but we're still very curious about how things were before. How Does He Compare To Other Protagonists
Joker, like the other recent protagonists of the series, fits the archetype of the silent protagonist; what he says is ultimately controlled by the player. While we're used to this, and it's usually everyone's intention to max out all stats to make Joker the most charming, knowledgeable, proficient, gutsy, and kind that he can possibly be, players are definitely curious to see what he would be like compared to the other Protagonists. In theory, their personalities and demeanors would all probably be very different despite them all essentially playing the same role in their respective story. Would Joker be the clever, witty one of the bunch? We'd love to know! What Inspired His Metaverse Outfit
Persona fans know that there is an exhausting amount of meaning behind even the smallest design decisions and as such players probably wonder if there are any details about Joker's Metaverse outfit that are reflective of his personality or his character. Granted it could be nothing in particular beyond the fact that it just looks cool, but since each character's Metaverse outfit seems to tie in with their Persona in one way or another, this could be another method of insight into who Joker really is. When Is His Birthday
Players have a general idea of the age range of Joker, and while his exact date of birth isn't ever specified, it's thought to be somewhere between 1999 and 2000. Like the other protagonists before him, though, he's not given a specific date of birth. This is likely done in order to make him as blank of a slate as possible so the player's choices can shape his personality. Despite this, though, he should have an exact birthday that remains a mystery to fans of the series. While this question may stay unanswered, speculating Joker's zodiac sign is definitely something fans have done. Who Is His Best Girl Boy
Is it Makoto? Is it Ann? What about Kawakami? Maybe it's Doctor Takemi? Heck, for all we know it could be Ryuji or Yusuke. Again, in the game, it's up to the players and it's an often discussed topic among fans. Regardless of player decision, it would be nice to see who Joker would choose as his if given a more in-depth personality. Players know that the romance option doesn't hold a huge amount of weight in the game, so even better for fans if we could get a bit of insight. Again, fans probably won't, but it's fun to think about.
