Sims 4 10 Things We Know About Eco Lifestyle From The Trailer
The ninth expansion for The Sims 4 is Eco Lifestyle. Here's what we know about the game's features from the trailer and accompanying information. The Sims team has just dropped a trailer for the upcoming expansion pack : Eco Lifestyle. There is also an accompanying press release that tells us a little more about this pack. While it may not be the some expected, Simmers did express a love of eco-living way back when the first community stuff pack vote was taking place. The new is focused on living an eco-lifestyle and we currently have just a brief overview of what it contains. It's set to release on June 5th in the first simultaneous launch for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. More information is likely to be released over the coming weeks, before the pack's launch. Here we take a look at the information we have so far, mainly focusing on the trailer, and see what we can expect from Eco Lifestyle. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Evergreen Harbor
The pack introduces a new called Evergreen Harbor. We've been told that this neighborhood will respond to the actions of your sims, presumably in a similar way to how Sulani evolves if you look after the island. Embracing an eco-friendly lifestyle, including using renewable energy sources such as wind turbines, solar panels, and dew collectors will help the town blossom while leaving trash to accumulate will increase air pollution and muddy waters. Death And Dumpsters
Early in the trailer, we see a Sim surrounded by flies and another dive into a dumpster. Being able to dumpster dive is confirmed and Sims will be able to use this to find items to reuse and recycle. The flies are currently speculated to be the potential return of death by flies, a particularly gruesome way of expiring that we saw in The Sims 2. Hopefully, we will find out if this is true as more information is revealed. Container Builds Are A Thing We Think
The trailer appears to show a container build, although we are currently unsure of the specifics surrounding this. A from SimGuruGeorge, the producer on this pack, hints that there may well be doors on them. As other screenshots show Sims working inside what appears to be container style walls, it looks likely that they are functional buildings. However, we don't know if these will be able to be used in or if this is a pre-built community lot. Sustainable Fashion And Vertical Gardens
This information is taken from the , which states that sims can " New clothing for the pack appears likely to be sustainable fashion and the new vertical garden allows Sims to grow plants in a tiny space. Hopefully, Sims can grow their own cotton or similar to merge the two concepts together. Community Involvement
The trailer shows what appears to be a community meeting, a fact confirmed by other information. Sims will be able to use the Community Voting Board pictured to set up action plans to improve the town. There is a real focus on the community here as Sims are encouraged to join with town residents in order to make wider positive changes to their town. Maker Spaces
We can clearly see candle making here, emphasized in the trailer, but there are also other sims crafting in the same place. This is likely to be the community space mentioned in the accompanying information. Players can craft together, recycling, upcycling, and even compacting trash, which is what the huge green machine appears to do. Bug Hotels And Grubs
This Sim appears to adore this tiny grub, who has touched many hearts. The building in front of him looks like a bug hotel, suggesting composting may also be a feature of the new pack. We'd love to see bug collecting expanded and composting is a huge want so we hope we're right on this one. Regardless, the bug hotel itself looks adorable, as does this grub. Ladders Are Finally Here
One of the greatest announcements is that ladders are finally coming to the game. We've had ladders in Sulani, attached to docks, but SimGuruGeorge has that they will be coming to all in the free patch associated with the expansion. Ladders are a great space saver and this is one of the features that has got Simmers the most excited, especially since they can be placed inside or outside. Seeing that ladders will be available for all is great news for builders and players alike. Recycled And Upcycled Build And Buy
The new build and buy items look great. There are said to be some recycled and upcycled items, some of which we can see here. The cardboard dollhouse looks cute and the other new items here have a modern feel. In the background, we can see a unique looking shelf that has drawn the attention of a lot of builders, as has the addition of another round coffee table. Sims Can Pursue New Careers
Candle making is confirmed but did you realize it is part of a new freelance crafter career? We don't know exactly what you'll be able to craft in this career yet but we hope it will link up to the upcoming Plopsy Store we saw debuted a while back. There is also said to be a Civil Designer career, which this screenshot is likely to represent. This sim is also seen with blueprints, presumably ones for creating an eco-friendly home.
