Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver have plenty of in-game trades, here are where to find them. HeartGold & SoulSilver are two of the most beloved and expensive Nintendo DS games ever made. The games completely remade the originals and added tons of new features, including the addition of Pokémon from the Hoenn region. Like the games they are based on, there are tons of in-game trades for trainers to find that can help them quickly expand their team, or even just give them access to cool foreign Pokemon. In addition, traded Pokemon will match the level of your original catch. There are even some trades that may leave you scratching your head. To help you navigate your way through the game, we have listed every available trades in HeartGold/SoulSilver and where to find them. Bellsprout For Onix

This is an easy trade that can be found almost immediately after you enter Violet City. Once you enter from Route 31, you will notice a small house. Go inside to find the trainer Rudy, who wants to trade an Onix named Rocky for a Bellsprout. The Onix will be holding a Prism Berry and have a hasty nature. The that will keep it alive, even when taking a heavy amount of damage.

Drowzee For Machop

The next trade in the game will be found in the game's biggest city, Goldenrod. More specifically, you will be able to find the trainer Jose on the fifth floor of the Goldenrod Department Store. Here he will offer you to trade a Drowzee for a Machop named Guts holding a Macho Brace, an item that increases the attack power of Pokémon while lowering their speed. This Machop has a lonely nature and the ability Guts, which allows a 50% attack increase when the Machop is afflicted with a status effect.

Krabby For Voltorb

When you arrive at Olivine City, You will want to enter the house in the northern part of town. There you will find a fisherman named Richard who is looking to trade his Voltorb, Billy. The Voltorb will come holding a Cherri Berry and has a hardy nature. It also has the useful electric type ability static that gives Voltorb a 30% chance of paralyzing its opponent when attacked psychically. This ability also gives you a 50% chance of encountering an electric type when Voltorb is placed in your party's first slot.

Dragonair For Dodrio

After Olivine City, you won't find another trade again until you are in Blackthorne, the city housing the eighth gym. Here you will be asked to give up your Dragonair in exchange for a Dodrio. The trainer that offers the trade, Ayan, can be found in a house to the east. The Dodrio is named Doris and holds a smoke ball, an item the guarantees the holder can flee from battle. On top of the smoke ball, Doris has an impish nature and the ability Run Away, which has the same effect as the smoke ball.

Haunter For Xatu

For the next few trades, you will have to beat the elite four and return to Kanato. Here you will find a man in Pewter City named Mondo looking for a Haunter. Mondo can be found in the local Pokemon Center and is NPC closest to the entrance. The Xatu is nicknamed Paul and will come to you holding a Wacan Berry. Theand the ability Synchronize, which causes opposing Pokémon to be afflicted with the same status effects.

Dugtrio For Magneton

To find Magneton, you will need to find Route 10 and enter the power plant. Inside you will find several scientists. For the trade, you will need to speak to Lorenzo, who can be found at the top of the room. Lorenzo will, who is holding a Metal cCat. The Metal Coat will increase the power of Steel moves by 10%. The Magneton has an impish nature and the ability Magnet Pull, which will keep other Steel-types from fleeing during battle.

Pikachu For Pikachu

These next few trades are a bit different and will require you to win battles before gaining access to them. The first is a trade with Lt. Surge that will pop up after you defeat him two times. After this, go to the Saffron City Train Station after , specifically from the Viridian Forest. He will then trade you a french Pikachu named Volty, who is holding a Yellow Shard. This Pikachu has a jolly nature along with the ability Static.

Forretress For Beldum

To start this trade, you will need to find the trainer Steven. To begin, go to Saffron Center and enter the pink house to find a copycat who has lost her doll, afterward, fly to Vermillion city and enter the Pokemon Club, once you talk to the president you will get the doll. After leaving, you will encounter Steven outside. After he leaves, fly back and give the girl her doll and then head to Silph Co. where he will be waiting again. You will then be given a starter by him, afterward fly to the Pewter City Museum to talk to him again and then back to Silph Co. where he will offer to trade you a Beldum that is holding the Dawn Stone. It will have a brave personality with the ability Clear Body, which negates ability effects.

Bonsly For Rhyhorn

This can be another trade that is a bit tricky to find; to start with, you will need to defeat Brock and then make your way to Vermillion City. Here you will need to enter the Diglett Cave specifically on a Saturday between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to find Brock. He will then offer you a Rhyhorn named Hornlette, who will be holding a Passho Berry. The with the ability Lighting Rod, which absorbs any Electric-type moves used by the opponent.

Any For Steelix

This is one of the simplest trades in the game since you can literally choose any Pokemon you want for the trade. The trade will become available when you beat gym leader Jasmine for the second time. Afterward, visit her in the gym to begin the trade where she will offer you her Steelix, Rusty. Rusty is holding a Soothe Bell, which helps improve your friendship level by 50%. Rusty has a brave nature with the Rock Head ability that allows the Steelix to ignore recoil damage.
