Every Weapon In Resident Evil 2 Ranked
Resident Evil 2 provides players with a wide arsenal of weapons to choose from, and here is a ranking of them from worst to best. In the remake of there's a deceptively large arsenal, on par with the remake of RE 3. Some weapons are , some to Claire, but regardless of who's using them, most of them have some type of utility. Most of the weapons in the game are pistols and larger guns that use explosives, which are great for , who presents an increasingly more real threat as the player raises the difficulty, ranging from a minor annoyance to a run-ending juggernaut. Here, we'll be ranking all of the game's weapons on their ability to help deal with him and other threats. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Spark Shot
The issue with the Spark Shot is two-fold. First of all, the real damage it does is negligible, except when used on certain enemies. Generally, the real use is when the player wants to stun and bypass enemies. Secondly, the ammo for this weapon is sparse. It can only be found in one location inside the police station, and shots must be charged. Anti-Tank Rocket
The Anti-Tank Rocket only appears at one very specific juncture in the game, but when it shows up, it does so with flair. It comes with only 4 ammo, and there's no other ammo to be found in the game, although there was originally an infinite ammo version written into the code. It does what it came to and takes out the Super Tyrant quickly. Chemical Flamethrower
The main thing the Chemical Flamethrower has going for it is the incredible versatility it's used for. It can take care of normal zombies (although that's kind of overkill), and will permanently get rid of Ivy enemies where other guns fail. The only issue is the high gunpowder cost to make ammo. Minigun
The minigun is perhaps the best heavy weapon available to Claire and it shows after about 2 minutes with it. The gun absolutely tears enemies apart, even making quick work of the Tyrant, Super Tyrant, and G. The issue with this gun centers around the fact that Claire can't pick up any ammo for it, requiring a bit of discretion. ATM-4
This is one of the more decent heavy weapons in the game, but the legwork required to actually unlock the thing really isn't worth the diminishing returns it offers on the Anti-Tank Rocket formula. It has a faster rate of fire, does basically the same damage, and requires an S+ rank on Hardcore. M19
The M19 is probably the weakest of the handguns, for multiple reasons. Sure, it packs a punch, but maybe and not the gun. He decides to use the M19 horizontally, which looks pretty cool but messes with the recoil. It's strong, but a 7 bullet capacity adds to the faulty aiming. Quickdraw Army
The Quickdraw Army should be near the top of this list if not for a few glaring issues. It has a great damage stat, holds 6 rounds (which it can empty in a hurry incredibly easily), with not very much recoil at all for the DPS it does. The issue is that each bullet has to be reloaded manually, making it the slowest reload in the game. SLS 60
While Leon's starting weapon is pretty much a great introductory gun, this one suffers just a little bit from the fact that it's a 5-shot revolver with a relatively slow reload time. Other than the fact that the player can aim more easily while moving than with other guns, this one requires use by a skilled marksman. Matilda
Ah, ol' reliable. Matilda has a name for a reason, and that's because she's pretty much your go-to handgun, being the one the player receives at the beginning of a Leon run. It's pretty much standard all across the board. Decent damage, decent fire rate, and carrying capacity... not too much to write home about overall. W-870
The W-870 is all around a great gun, which makes it one of the first versatile shotguns seen in video game history. There's ammo abounds, and it can take on pretty much any enemy with reasonable efficacy. Not only that but when perfecting speedruns, it nearly guarantees decapitations with a close-range headshot. GM 79
The GM 79 is a weapon anyone will come to rely on during a Claire run since it's pretty much her version of Leon's shotgun. Which of these is better really comes down to preference, but the great crowd control that can be achieved with the splash-damage for this weapon means it's a cut above the shotgun. Samurai Edge
The Samurai Edge shouldn't be this low on the list exactly considering it's an incredible weapon, the only issue is the fact that it has infinite ammo, which means it isn't exactly fair to the other guns. Other than that, it's a pretty decent handgun really only differentiated by the 15-round capacity. MQ 11
The MQ 11 is one of the more insane weapons in the game, especially because the noisy nature of a submachine gun can be mitigated entirely with the suppressor upgrade, which means . It also shreds bosses if aimed correctly and can hold up to 15 rounds. Any downside can be done away with by firing in bursts. Lightning Hawk
The Lightning Hawk hits like a Desert Eagle, despite the fact that it might not look like much. With a name like this, it has to be good. While it only has a 7 bullet capacity, the insane damage it does, the quick reload speed, and it can easily take out stronger enemies with a well-placed shot. JMB Hp3
The JMB Hp3 is a handgun, but don't be fooled by the weapon class. This gun is perhaps one of the most well-rounded weapons in the game, although it's easy to assume a simple pistol can't pack a punch. It has a laser sight, the same damage as the SLS 60, high capacity, and quick reload speed.
