Hey Nintendo What s Going On With Amiibo

Amiibo have been one of the more successful Nintendo initiatives in recent years, so where are they now? When initially launched its Amiibo product line in 2014, many sold out in stores. These statuettes were massively popular, though while they looked cool, they served a functional purpose for rewarding players in various Nintendo-published games and giving players the opportunity to train in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U with an NPC reflective of the statuette. They were highly popular and many collectors are still on the hunt to this day. Now, the question is: What happened? From 2014's Smash Bros. titles to Breath of the Wild, numerous Amiibos provided unique functionalities in-game, though production has seemingly stopped. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY The greatest example of this sudden stoppage is the fighters in the Fighter's Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. None have been released thus far, which is disappointing to many collectors and fans of the series from which the fighters came. It's a crying shame and limiting when you compare the other Amiibo available. One possible cause of the Amiibo's sudden stoppage could have to do with the novel coronavirus that has caused a slowdown of immense proportions. From delaying everything from, reportedly, the next Nintendo Direct to the cancellation of a multitude of gaming events, the stopping of production may have to do with delayed production overall. If this were the case, then there's no telling when the Amiibo will be coming available. As things are only starting to ramp up again after a weeks-long period of isolation and closures, the production of Amiibo may only be starting up again, signaling that we may not see the new Amiibo in stores for a long while. Hopefully, we do hear something about Amiibo soon. While Animal Crossing: New Horizons is compatible with Animal Crossing Amiibo, Smash Bros. has been a primary go-to when it comes to using Amiibo for games. As much as unlocking costumes in the likes of Super Mario Odyssey and Skyrim is cool, something more substantive would be highly appreciated. Further, with coming anticipated releases like Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, Amiibo fans will need their brand-new Amiibo fill to complete their collections of Amiibo of beloved Nintendo characters.
