Pokémon Sword & Shield 10 Questions We Have About The Crown Tundra s Dynamax Adventures
Pokémon's Crown Tundra DLC is promising to bring Dynamax Adventures with it. Here are some questions we still have about the series. A major part of DLC that has been announced is the new challenge mode, Dynamax Adventures. With this new mode, players can battle alongside either three other friends or three NPC trainers and delve deeper into then they ever have before and find many of their favorite legendaries from past titles. While another battle challenge is a welcome addition, with the Restricted Sparring and from the and base game being great ways to spend time in the post-game, there are still several aspects to Dynamax Adventures that haven't been made clear to players. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Why Are These Raid Dens Different
Galar is no stranger to Raid Dens, with the main Wild Area and the Isle of Armor being littered with them, but there must be something different about these dens that makes them stand out from those that came before. Are these dens simply larger, allowing for more Pokémon to call them home, or do they exude a different kind of Dynamax energy that makes them a magnet for particularly strong Pokémon? Do Certain Legendary Pokemon Attract Different Regular Pokemon
One of the main draws to partaking in Dynamax Adventures is the chance to catch many legendary Pokémon returning from previous titles in a manner similar to in . While the wormholes were color-coded to allow players to aim for the particular legendaries they were after, Raid Dens don't have this, at least in the Wild Areas players have been able to explore so far. Not only that, but if each legendary is relegated to a particular den, will that legendary attract certain species of Pokémon to guard it, or is it entirely randomized? Can The Dens Be Cleared Out
Promotional images for Dynamax Adventures show players exploring a branching cave system with multiple paths as different Pokémon options to challenge. As there isn't any specific gameplay footage of this mode yet, there is no word on whether or not players can backtrack to beat every Pokémon? While it could be like Ultra Wormholes, where players can only move forward and any missed opportunities have to be attempted in another run. The difference is that it was also due to the means of transport through those wormholes on the back of a Lunala or Solgaleo, meaning players might be able to challenge every Pokémon inside the den. Will Partners Have Updated Movesets
While taking part in Max Raid battles in the main game and on the Isle of Armor is a great distraction, it is somewhat let down by how bad the NPC trainer's Pokémon are compared to the player's team. A can only do so much damage, and a Solrock that only uses Cosmic Power is downright useless. As these partners appear to be returning in Dynamax Adventures, this would be a good time for Game Freak to update these appalling movesets for something that is actually useful, especially considering the player is also going to be using these rental Pokémon. How Many Times Can You Switch Pokemon
After defeating a Dynamax Pokémon in Dynamax Adventures, one of the players has the chance to switch out their partner and use their most recent catch instead, giving the players more options than they are normally allowed with the rental Pokémon. What hasn't been specified as of yet is how many times a player is allowed to do this, particularly in Endless Adventures where the players are going to be defeating many more Pokémon. Will There Be Endless Rewards
Like the Battle Tower, where the player will accrue more BP the higher they climb and the more battles they win, will this be the same in Endless Adventures? In this case, it could be that Pokémon are more likely to be shiny, or perhaps more likely to have increased IV's or egg moves. Aside from the enjoyment factor, the rewards gained from Endless Adventures will make or break this new mode and decide whether or not it is worth the time investment. Will There Be Pokemon Exclusive To Dynamax Adventures
Aside from legendary Pokémon, which have been confirmed to appear inside the Raid Dens at the end of Dynamax Adventures, will there be other Pokémon that can only be found inside the Dynamax Adventures dens? For the most part, the only Pokémon in the past that were Raid Den exclusive were evolved forms of wild Pokémon that were found in the overworld, so this could be a good chance to mix up the formula and make some Pokémon only available by doing Dynamax Adventures. Will There Be More Zacian & Zamazenta
One of the big promotional images for The Crown Tundra bragged that every legendary Pokémon - but not mythical Pokémon - from previous generations were going to be including in the DLC. Of this gargantuan list of Pokémon, three stood out from the rest, being , and Eternatus. Does this mean that players are able to catch multiples of a cover legendary on the same save file for the first time, or is this just Game Freak letting players know which Pokémon are available in the game in general? Are Legendary Pokemon Shiny Locked
For many legendary Pokémon, it is nearly impossible to obtain shiny versions of them outside of distributions or special events, as they are shiny locked and won't appear shiny no matter how many times players reset the battle. This is the case for Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus, but there is no word on whether this is the case for the dozens of new legendaries returning to the game. There have been some cases in the past of legendaries not being shiny locked, but they are often more hassle than they are worth when it comes to actually catching them. Can You Catch The Same Legendary Multiple Times
Since Dynamax Adventures is a mechanic designed to be played through several times by the players, it raises the question of whether or not they can catch the same legendary multiple times. Particularly considering the fact that this is a mode that can be played with up to three other people, some of which may have caught the same legendary before, this could mean this is the first time Pokémon players are able to catch the same legendary Pokémon more than once on the same save file.
