10 Best TF2 Scattergun Skins Ranked

The Scattergun is one of Team Fortress 2's most recognizable weapons, but players can make it their own by using these phenomenal skins. The Scattergun is a fun weapon to wield in that’s surprisingly effective in the right hands. Thanks to its wide cone of fire, it’s absolutely brutal at close range but loses effect the farther a player is from a target. As a result, it favors aggressive gameplay and ambush tactics. For players who favor this weapon, it may be worth it to spend some money and customize the design to appeal to them. The game features a number of different skins for players to decide on whatever appearance they want. To give players some ideas on what look they can go for, here are the best skins for the Scattergun out there. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Autumn

The Autumn skin puts a layer of autumn leaves over the entire Scattergun. It’s a mix of dark brown, yellow, and tan oak and maple leaves. It’s one of the few seasonal skins that isn’t Christmas and actually employs the less is more philosophy. It’d be to have during the fall season or when playing on maps like Sawmill, Mossrock, and Harvest. It would also fit in well during a Harvest or Halloween event.

Woodsy Widowmaker

The Woodsy Widowmaker is an interesting skin in both name and appearance. The gun’s handle and stock is a light green and the barrels, receiver, and trigger guard resemble urban camouflage with various shades of gray and black. This would be a good skin on darker maps like Timbertown or urban environments like Target. Of course the green coloring doesn’t allow it to blend in very well, but it’s still neat looking.

Night Owl

Night Owl follows a similar design style as the Woodsy Widowmaker with some noticeable differences. The center of the barrels and trigger guard are orange, the handle and fore-end is black, and the receiver and barrels are in abstract geometric shapes with various shades of gray. The orange coloring gives the gun a bit of pop and the randomized design makes it a unique gun skin. This would also look good in urban areas like Target or Highpass.

Damascus & Mahogany

No doubt inspired by the Damascus Shootgun, the Damascus & Mahogany Scattergun skin gives the weapon a unique look. The center of the barrels, fore-end, and stock are a rich mahogany and the metal components of the weapon have the etched Damascus look, sort of like a fingerprint. It’s the kind of gun you’d see hanging in a collection, but it would serve the player well in battle. If the player is looking for a traditionally elegant look than this is a great skin.

Macabre Web

The Macabre Web gives the Scattergun . The center of the barrels and trigger guard are a light teal color, the fore-end and receiver are black and purple stripes, and the barrels are black with spiderwebs splayed across them. For fans of spiders or just in favor of a wacky and unique skin this is a great pick. It’d be at home in a map like Gravestone.

Bamboo Brushed

Bamboo Brushed goes in a different direction than many of the other skins on this list by embracing a wooden aesthetic. The center of the barrels, fore-end, and stock are a grainy gray wood while the rest of the gun appears to be made of bamboo reeds. It gives it a homemade craftsman appearance that really stands out. This is cool skin to have in maps like Mercenary Park, Banana Bay, and Suijin.

Nutcracker

An unfortunate name for an FPS, but the Nutcracker has some interesting design schemes. The center of the barrels and the fore-end are a wavy wood, the receiver and trigger guard, and a more polished wood, and the stock is a darker wood. The barrels are interesting with an almost pinecone like texturing and color. While technically a Christmas themed weapon it has a neutral enough coloring scheme it could work during other parts of the year.

Uranium

Uranium gives the Scattergun a sci-fi design scheme. The metal components have a slightly burnished look that looks great against the green geometric lines that run up and down the length of the gun. It’s almost as if the gun is just pulsing with some horrific energy that’ll blow apart enemies when it’s used. Which honestly is what’ll happen to anyone who gets too close .

Kill Covered

The Kill Covered skin gives the weapon a dark gray and black coloring. It’s covered in scratched in notches depicting how many people the owner has killed. Literally every part of the barrels and receiver have etched lines showing someone lost their life by this weapon. It’s an eerie weapon that seems almost out of place in the cartoonish TF2. For those looking to intimidate their opponents a bit this is a dark weapon to have.

Alien Tech

The last skin on this list and arguably the best out there is the Alien Tech. It’s almost like Uranium was an attempt by humans to model this weapon but lacked the proper technology to do so. The weapon is black with a green trigger guard and intricate green lines running down it’s length. In war the side with the superior technology is typically the side that wins. This weapon certainly looks like superior technology and brings a bit of Sci-Fi to the battlefield.
